I 100% understand, I only really care about the first of something. The Ghost Saber is what started the obsession, every hunter I make must obtain one ASAP! Loque'nahak was the first SB I ever tamed, so he is on the super loved list. Skoll is still on my "to-do" list, where has been since he was released thanks to a long run of bad luck and finding corpses at least once week. Solix would stay as it was the first challenge pet that gave me fits until I figured out what I was doing wrong. Outside of those, the rest are kind of meh.

I remember the ghost saber fondly. Back in TBC having one made me want to roll a new hunter and take her all the way to 70. ^ ^

Amazing (in a good way) what we used to obsess over before SB's came along.

I have 25 pets - only rares. I was working quite hard to make my stable look like that.
I don't really use 20 of them.
I have with me only 5 pets (tanking, pvp, 3 pve) and I haven't changed it for last 2 months.
However, I can't bring myself to release those unused pets. Some of them don't even have talents assigned, I haven't used them once.
But I remember how hard I tried to find them, remember hard fights with spiders from Molten Front (I think I died around 20-30 times in total with Deth'tilac, Kirix, Skitter, Anthriss, Solix) so I just can't release them like that :)

When new pets are introduced, I don't really know if I release some of my current pets. Maybe Skoll, Aotona or Loque - as I saw them already many times, and it should be easy to get them back, if I wanted to.

:) I laughed when I read that. She's just slighty dead... slightly

I remember when I trimmed to 10 or so, it felt a bit "freeing" almost. It just got depressing seeing all those "trophy pets" who I had no real intention of actually using.

Heck if it went back down to 5 stable slots, I bet hunters would get more attached to their flock

Back in Vanilla I had a Hunter Twink who had very fond memories of my ghostsaber. BM back then was pretty dominate in the Twinking brackets (as long as you had your pet learn the high level of "claw" or whatever the spells were). I enjoyed that Ghostsaber even more when he would become diseased or poisoned in Warsong Gulch, he would turn near invisible :)

I don't know... I might have to... *cringe* ... liberate some of my spider collection and reconsider my cats... But the cats I have left are the ones that mean the most to me right now... and my spirits? Well... I may not be on an RP server, but I have stories and attachments to all of them. Some of my pets I've been wanting for a while but never got around to gathering until now.

If nothing else, I've been wanting to play a game called "Spirit Roulette" where I ask a random person to pick a spirit beast and I play with that one in the next instance and swap out. Or... heaven forbid they do the "dual pets" thing... I already have internal thoughts on how that would go. Karma and Drama (Skoll) would be fighting to be top pick, being as I got Drama first and Karma second but Karma (being Loque'nahak) is proud of his status as one of the rarer spirit beasts, the original, and looks down on the others (at least according to most hunters I talk to, Loque is rarer than the others). And Depth and Glacier (Magria and Ankha) would be opposites, working together. The reason they spawned in the same location is they were looking for each other. And through Shade, were reunited. .-.

Even Ban'thalos has grown on me. I've never had a psycho flapping thing running around killing stuff. And as long as we're not stacking in a corner so he's not in my face, it's kinda fun on my end. Don't know how my tanks feel about it yet, though.

I'm dreading there being "zomg 15 more challenge tames because hunters love them!" because I do! I really love challenge tames! But mercy... If you're gonna do that, give me 15 more stable slots, please... And rare/updated skins... I'm an addict, alright? I admit it! I have a problem! ... But I'm hoping I don't have to fix it. Hehe.
