Seems most rp servers are so horde favored or dead. D:

I started a mage on the server and joined the Guild. It may not prove to be a difference, but they certainly make up the majority of serious Ally players, have things such as classes needed and Professions needed very organized, and other such promising factors. I really hope there'll be a free Ally transfer there, so I could move all my toons on Nordrassil over to Mal'ganis.

If there was a person famous enough that joined/started a guild there รก la Totalbiscuit it would fill up quickly. Someone get Pride or Jesse Cox from OMFGcata to join the guild and watch the masses flow in.
EDIT: Oooh oooh or BlueXephos! Or I don't know, Oxhorn. Ruytarou. Plenty of WoW celebrities who could turn the tide.

Isn't Chogall pretty bad too, in terms of H vs A? Last I checked, a /who in Stormwind gave me 12 people. 12.

Because it's a foul-mouthed nasty server with a bad reputation that doesn't like outsiders.

Most newcomers who try to inject themselves into the main culture of the server are driven off. I'd imagine that would keep us from being a server that gets any sort of free transfers. It takes a strong backbone to survive here, although since Cata, I don't think a whole lot of people care at this point. Things feel pretty relaxed/dead.
As for the population breakdown, there are a lot of the same people playing characters of both factions here, especially since the change that allowed players on PvP servers to roll characters of both factions on the same account. Prior to that, we were definitely more horde-inclined.

That doesn't sound fun for either side.
It's obvious why it sucks for the Alliance, but for the Horde side... I mean... there's no competition. No nail-biting suspense as you wonder who's gonna get away with the TB victory. No world PvP, no Allies invading their cities, nothing to worry about at all. Boring, boring, boring.

It seems that any of the PvP realms have a bad reputation. I have not had ONE good group with anyone from a PvP server. And in BG's? Forget it. You don't do one thing right and its tantamount to being near blacklisted.
And as for RP realms. Well...Moon Guard is probably the biggest joke of an RP realm I have seen. That's why I moved to Sentinels. Might as well help try to build up one of the older servers if I can. At least the Pornshire there doesn't exist. In fact, it's pretty respectable.

Aye, that's the reputation they all share. Course, it's all perception and odds; there are a number of "normal" people here too. In fact, Dethecus has as many carebears as griefers, at least in my experience.

Dead would be the word there! Dethecus has been taking some major hits on server transfers since they are allowing you to transfer a guild now. I know several guilds have just been sitting around waiting on it. As soon as it became available, they left. Some people have even bought guilds for gold on Dethecus because they were server transferring and wanted to start a guild on another server. By purchases one and transferring the guild with them, they didn't have to start with a level 1 guild.

Bit late to the party but - Wyrmrest Accord is very Alliance Heavy. I'm not sure if the numbers show it but the Alliance has an even more active RP community than horde side.
((I'd know this. I faction changed.))

Truth! And we weren't all that populous to begin with. So hey, maybe we will start turning up on the free transfer option...
The funny thing is, we're small, but not quite deserted enough to not be able to do things like TB. It's a good balance for a small server, you know? Although this perception is based off of info gathered before guild transfers opened up...

Kalli : Really? I've not personally noticed such horrible behaviour from people on that server. Certainly not anything worse than any other server, but I've been playing there since vanilla and it's been about the same as any place else for me.
Rox : My first ever guild still exists there

Although it's just me and my partner left in it now days, not to mention we've rarely gone there in years. I did have a bit of a level rush for one of the toons there though when Cata came out, lvl 22 to 36, good fun.
Sigh, I miss all of my guilds.

Hee, didn't realize you had toons here too, Kayb!
It really depends on who you're hanging around. I personally avoid a lot of the drama because I never have trade chat on.

Same goes for me on any server, though. Things were supposedly worse back in vanilla, but I didn't play then and can't verify. I just know how the Dethecus population at large used to view itself. That all seems to have relaxed in Cata and carebearing took over. I suppose you're more likely than not to run into some of the decent people we have left here now that our numbers are smaller. That's good; maybe we'll get some new blood that isn't driven off or asinine.

I have toons EVERYWHERE my dear

I'm spread across a good number of realms hehe.
On Dethecus specifically though, I've got about 8 toons there.
