Yeah, the 'different' human models you saw in Wrath are all legacy Alpha human NPCs. (You can tell 'cause they're all sorta ugly even if their frames are different.)
The gangly 'thief' model was mostly prevalent in vanilla as a mob that occurred in Deadmines. It's possible there were more of them but that's the only place I actively remember them being.
I am kinda hoping that the Chuck Norris model is an update if only because he's not built like Beefy McManchunks.

I was wondering the same thing when I saw the new commercial. The other commercials just used the old models, save for the mohawk hairdo for Mr. T's nelf (which hadn't been released in game at the time of the commercial airing). The Chuck Norris hunter definitely is a totally new skin, and I really, really hope it means new player models are coming and NOT that Chuck Norris is just going to be a new NPC in the Barrens or something.
Also... "Beefy McManchunks." ROFL... I need to remember that.

It's possible everything new on Chuck's human model (redesigned head, slimmer build, and all sorts of new martial arts animations) could have just been a mock-up for a short commercial, but here's to hoping it's a little taste of what's to come.
Funny enough, they used the blocky 2002 tiger for his pet! XD

Actually, we already have seen this model, but no one actually picked up on it before......

It's there, hidden under all that armor, but they already showed us it back at blizcon, we just missed it
It's even more obvious when you put them all together...

and yes, from what I can see, I'm guessing they have just used the old human male skin on the model for blizcon (the fingers give it away) but the model is new, and awfully simmilar to the one in the commercial I dare say... I'm guessing it will be the new model for Human males also.

Spirit, you have one hell of a knack for finding these little details XD

Spiritbinder, I think you may have found physical evidence of a model revamp in the works. Good eye! The head conveniently hidden by the helmet on the Blizzcon examples, the wonky fingers hidden by Chuck's gloves. Same pose and build!
Seeing Chuck's model next to the regular human male model just highlights how spectacularly dated it looks. A more relaxed posture and muscles that aren't comically enormous go a long way to making Chuck look better.
If this speculation is correct, I wonder then if, down the road, we can roll guys with Chuck Norris's features, or whether that was simply a mockup.

Looks like human males are shaping up to have better-defined neck and waist, so let's hope!

I would love, love, love some updates to the old models!
I am not counting on it, but looking at the evidence, there is at least a decent chance we might get some old model touch-ups in MoP. I really, hope we do.

Is it just me or does Mr. Norris appear to have stuffed not just a sock but all his laundry in the front of his briefs there? o.O

I'm dying of laughter now...thanks!
Well, if they do update the race models, hope the updated the BC ones too...maybe make the male draenei not so top-heavy! (I transmogged his booties into one of the bigger ones to help balance out his design LOL)

The old / current model is on the left, yes?
If so, I'm not seeing any real difference, at least not to silhouette. Muscle definition yes - if that's not just case of Chuck being blown up from a smaller size - but the shoulders, thighs, bicepts / tricepts? Still chunky.
I mean it looks fine on Chuck ofc, but as an example of a newer / slimmer male human? Not so much....

I dunno, compare Chuck to the Blizzcon render, which was made some time before.
And blood elves and draenei are probably almost certainly getting a revamp too if my theory about monk animations is correct.

Just a side-note when we are on the topic of the Chuck commercial, am I the only one who thinks his cat sounds ridiculous? I sure hope that's not a new sound for them!

Haha, I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be a real cat noise. More just a ridiculous karate-style HIIYAAAA sound.

I certainly hope that's the new model/skeleton for the Human male, the main thing that keeps me from playing as a human is how blech the current model is. Way too much muscle and thickness especially in the wrists, hands and legs.
Hopefully the textures will also get an overhaul, the amount of smudgy and blurry textures on the older models really needs fixing. And a bit more detail to muscle tone and such, and for God's sake give the male Blood Elves nipples!

Nozdormu's texture would be perfect, just makes several different tones.
Also, give us the NPC faces that aren't available, like Kalecgos' human form, if only for the sake of variety. Not every adventurer is gonna be in the 30-to-50 age range, give us more youthful faces, and faces with injuries (various scars, missing eye, tattoos).
