Well I will have to admit the felreaver was also one of my "HolyBuckets! WTH is that ruuuuuunnn..*spat!" mobs.
But the original type of mob for me was that devilsaur back in vanilla, the 1st one I met was by far the worst, King Mosh. That lower rumbling sound that you could slowly hear coming closer and closer, the errie green mist that drifted through the crater (either that or the terrible graphics card I had back then : P ) Stomp, Stomp Stomp! EeeeeeeEEeeEekkkkK! *CHOMP!
It seemed no matter how fast you ran, no matter what direction you took, if you didn't FD in time.... you didn't have to feign it, you just died! I <3'ed and feared those massive lizards so much back then.

I know this doesn't relate to the conversation, but I still think Garrosh Hellscream is the scariest NPC ever...(May not be a mob, or a creature, but...he is still scary! D: )

I just remembered something that happened way back when I first started WoW.
I was brought into the game by a couple of hardcore raiders and they were trying to give me a crash course in shaman. I barely knew what I was doing, but they still dragged me into dungeons behind their high level characters so I could get some free XP. Well, it was me on my shaman, my friend on his new paladin, and another guildie's low-level alt.
We ended up in Scarlet Monastery. We went through wing after wing and I didn't think anything of it, except I kept hearing this terrifying voice from time to time, all hissy and bass and freaky and I was so sure that we were going to turn some corner and come face to face with a giant, horrifying boss and I was going to die. It wasn't until we got to the Cathedral that I discovered just what it was I was hearing. As the guildie's alt's demon chugged his way up the center aisle and headed right for Mograine and brought the Scarlet pain train down on all of us, I heard it growl in that shadowy voice, and I realised that all through this dungeon, I'd been terrified of her voidwalker.
I've actually adored voidwalkers ever since. XD

I started playing during BC and when I finally hit Outlands it was only normal for me to be stomped over by a Fel Reaver at first sight. I have since leveled over 12 toons through Hellfire Peninsula, but I still freak when I hear the sounds of the Fel Reaver approaching. Thank god most of my toons learned to fly early enough to avoid them, but there were a few nasty encounters with my Orc hunter (he was the first one to hit level 70 back then) and some toons on other servers that didn't have the money to learn flying when it was possible with level 60.
The second mob that scared the heck out of me was Terrokkarantula. I still loathe her, she killed me once with my Orc and she is just so BIG, together with these slim legs she just looks creepy. He color only adds to this, she looks like she had a bath in Undercity.
Speaking of Undercity: the green slime scares me. I always want to wash myself when I fall into it by accident. And the guards when they were still these undead creatures with three arms and axes and stitches... I have no problem with the abominations in Icecrown or Zul'Drak, they are to be killed, but those in Undercity - no way.
Something that has not been mentioned yet: diseased bears and wolfes. I feel so sorry for them, but their appearance is just creepy to me. I always want to heal them and knowing that I can't is something that annoys me. I tamed a diseased bear once, for the pet challenge thread, but just looking at his wounds (especially the belly) made me sick.

The geists on that Dragonblight quest gave me such a turn because I was in one of those moods of really getting into the game, putting myself into my character, really getting a feel for how it would be if it were real.

The worst are abominations. I was never scared of them, but my first encounter with them was unnerving. The Undercity was sure an unpleasant surprise for a new player. You go from an innocuous-looking courtyard and descend into a slimy pit with mind-slaves, people being tortured in terrible experiments, giant worms vomiting more slime, and worst of all, giant, gurgling zombies with their guts hanging out as the town guards. I was pretty eager to leave after a few minutes.

Those floating eyes (except c'thun, love him), abominations, slimes, and beholder mobs give me the chills. Then again most mobs in wow would scare the crap out of me if they were real

For me, I think it would have to be the Silithid (excluding the Boss Silithids and the Reavers,) diseased bears, abominations (not as much, but I should still avoid looking one directly in the stomach,) and... frenzies. Yes, frenzies are pretty creepy to me, probably because they seem to come from out of nowhere. That, and their faces make them look insanely bloodthirsty.

Yetis scare me. I hate them. Just looking at them makes me feel uneasy. xD
Abominations still scare me a little, too. I was running aimlessly through Duskwood way back whenever on my baby druid and I ran straight into Stitches.. It didn't end well. I was still a noob and had no idea what happened haha.

Whale Sharks freak me the hell out, specially one day when I decided to explore the outer areas of Vashj'ir that are assaulted constantly by a sandstorm, those things can appear out of nowhere. ;_;
And in terms of area? The Kharazan Crypts, goddamn it that place gives me the creeps.

Argh, yes! I hate Yetis. Their faces, the way they always wiggle their toes, their aggro sounds. I just don't like them. :<

You know what's worse, some of them keep wiggling their toes even after you kill them.

Small bump, hee, but another one occurred to me today.
The Uldum
titanic guardians. I think it's a mixture of their faces and the fact that they're giant, moving, aggressive statues. Something about them just disturbs me, they would definitely freak me out. They seem so resolute and unstoppable and quite eerie.

Anything that lumbers slowly toward you. It freaks me out as I'm just waiting, waiting for them to come to me. Sometimes I don't even attack and run away from them. I hate those stitched-together things with the eyes, too. The one you fight in Gilneas. Yeah, those.
I've never been in Naxx, but after hearing about Thaddius? I'm afraid to. I don't handle ghosts and screams well. That sounds ... chilling. I've always hated the low level zombies that go Ahhgghhhghh. They were the first mob that actually freaked me out.
... Yeah, I'm a wimp ...

when i first played wow, it was on my brothers account, just to see what all the fuss was about. i rolled a night elf and played through to lvl 6. the spiders in that cave had me running away. i went exploring and decided to go swimming, where i ran into the bog beasts and then ran away.
a week later i bought the game and rolled horde lol
now days i'm cool with pretty much everything. though like the above post, i reeeeeeeeeeeeeally hate those vile spider eggs on the bears back. ew ew ew ew ew

I'd have to say it's the dance with Deth. I adore Deth'tilac, he's my favorite of the molten spiders. But that slow creeping walk that keeps trying to get faster.. Knowing one bite will kill you... It's like something out of those old giant spider B movies. Not fond of the undead stuff either, and Fel Reaver made me always look over my lowbie shoulder in the day. But I'd say that first pulling shot and watching that spider come creeping towards you.
Oddly I've done the dance several times, doing the work to bring it down to tameable for a few folks and just popping in some help a few other times.
