I'd kill for a flying shark pet XD

They did at one time have a shark minipet. There was a lot of talk about it being sold in winter grasp, but it was pulled before the launch of Wrath. I have a feeling we'll at least see that pop up somewhere in the future I doubt they'd waste the model. But if they were willing to have one as a minipet depending on the mechanics I suppose a hunter pet isn't too far fetched.

Perhaps a mage could conjure a globe of water to permanently surround the pet so it could stay floating by your side. xD

Meh! The shark just needs a helmet. And a hover pad. Then he's good to go! Well he can't bite with the helmet on... ok so there are a few details to work out.

There was a non combat shark pet in the game files that was never implemented because Blizzard decided it wouldn't make sense.

Shark:

well maybe we could get those sharks and whales as pets

think of pokemon Goldeen and Seaking also fly around when not in water
