I'll definitely be starting off with a ranger, but I'm sure I'll branch out into everything sooner or later.

Odd as it may sound, one of the first things I will be doing is taming a bear - something I've always wanted in wow, except for the fact that wow-bears walk around permanently crouched in the front but straight up in the back, e.g. like walking around on feet and elbows, and about as silly looking imo.

Whereas at least from the vids I've seen, bears in GW look like... well, bears.

If you're planning on rolling a Ranger, you'll be able to choose between three pets of your choice based on the race you choose. As far as I know, Norn can choose between a Snow Leopard, a Wolf or a Bear. You, of course, will be able to tame different pets if you want. Pets in GW2 will all have unique abilities such as a Polar Bear and Brown Bear will not have the same ability. Polar Bear may have an attack that inflicts ice damage, while the Brown Bear may be physical damage.

I'm also keen on taming an armorfish at some point.

First post has a link to a thread with their recent closed Beta event coverage and it should also state that there is not release date yet.

Apologies for the double post, but here is a list of the current pets that Rangers will have access too from the last closed Beta event. Of course, Beta is Beta so it's subject to change.

I got an email stating they received my entry, but nothing as of it. I'd expect them to start picking out people next week. =3

AFAIK they still won't lower themselves to respect my OS.

Therefore they cannot have my money and I am still mad at their company.

What is your OS?

Mac OSX. As yet, Blizzard is the only MMO company to decide they want my filthy apple-tainted lucre, so that's who I continue to give it to.

My faves so far are the Snow Leopard, Rainbow Jellyfish, Fern Mastiff, Thorn Mastiff, Wolf.

Ooh...do like! Even more than what the website listed. Can you choose whichever ones you want? Or name them?

Wow! That video really makes me excited. ^^ I love that there are underwater pets. I might even have fun with a shark pet even though it'll probably freak me out until I get used to it.

Even if there isn't quite the same taming features as WoW, there seems to be a really nice variety of pet types. Argh, hurry up beta! I want to be in you! xD
