I'm all for the changes! BRING EM ON 8D
I think when the changes hit, it would behoove(SP?) them to give people free character recustomizations.

Ok Orcs and forsaken. Both of these obviously need help, but not near as bad as some of the other races I've seen. But again, that is just females so far. I can do males also.

Yea it seems that almost all the races have the hands stretched out pretty bad. Aside from Humans. One thing that surprised me tho, a lot of the males actually look pretty decent aside from the hands, but the animations are a lot better than girls.
Draenei male and Tauren male.
Rest are incoming soon!
Edit, forgot male draenei

Well...now I don't feel as bad for rolling a draenei male monk lol...but yeah...those models need a serious update...plus they all have the exact same fight stance in each race, other classes don't do that.

I can't WAIT for the updates. I think I've been screaming for them o n this forum for years now. THANK GOODNESS they're finally doing it. As soon as I saw Ysera (yes I know she's not a NE, but her humanoid form leans more in the NE-looking direction), Tyrande, and other NE's get updates in cataclysm, I became very jealous.

If it was up to me, character model/skeleton/animation updates would be equal in priority with making new content, even if it means the game takes a few months longer to be released. Releasing a new expansion with half of the content and updates unfinished is comparable with what Sega did with Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Hell, I'd have a dedicated group specifically for working on updating old content, playable characters being highest priority.
Random Joe's on DeviantArt can whip up gorgeous model skins in a week or two, yet Blizzard keeps saying that it's such a huge and long endeavor that they don't have enough people to do it with and blah blah blah yakety-shmackety. "Bah!", I say, "Bah!".

Well, there is a great deal of different between photo-shopping a still screenshot to look better and getting a working, moving, correct, and complete model in game.
However, I very much agree. People have been begging, pleading, and asking for the old player models to get some love since...Burning Crusade? Even longer? I really wish Blizzard would give in and do it. They did so much in Cata so we could fly in the old world and such.
Why not focus on the old models for a bit and give them the attention they desperately need?

Building a model, and making all the skins/faces/variations, rigging it, making sure it's skin-weighted right (notice the warping all around wrists and legs here), making sure all armor wears right, texturing it, and updating all the animations to Pandaren standards as well takes ages. Doing that for 20 different models, even with Blizz's team, is not going to be fast. I want them to take as long as they need, honestly.
I'd love to see a rig/skeleton comparison of old vs new when the new models get released. It will be scary.
