Much like Touro, I have a hunter that has a black vulture carrion bird. She's a relatively new hunter concept I've been toying with for RP--she's Rosaliah's older half-sister. Originally I always thought her signature pet would be one of the spotted black leopard cats from Teldrassil, but at level 10 without any assistance, it was just proving too much hassle to get up to Teldrassil without dying.

Mildly dejected, I decided on a whim to stop off in Mulgore and tame one of the swoops flying around there. I just picked one at random and tamed away. As soon as that gold flash hit it was an instant connection. Usually I agonize over a name for a pet, but the name O'Brian immediately came to mind and then his personality started to unfold.


O'Brian is a bit of a cranky old man who likes to spend a lot of time perched on Tulip's shoulder leering at people. When he's not leering, he's preening himself or warbling quietly to Tulip. He also gets used frequently as a look out when Tulip's on a mission, sending her back images of what's ahead. And between that beak and those claws he's a pretty fierce fighter too.

Ok, I have a carrion bird. His name is Skyfire. He was one of those, on the whip tames, and now....Well, I love him! Any sigs I ask for, I ask to be about him! He's, just, well, Perfect!

I previously did not like carrion birds much at all (and to be honest, I still don't like the old world models.)
Reading this thread made me look at them in a different way, and next thing you know...


I never realized how awesome the two-headed birds were. Not to mention a ghostly one with a super-cool appearance effect!

I imagine she was the lost spirit of an arakkoa's previous pet, who has now found a new person to follow.

The Outland version of the carrion bird is my super-duper favorite, and since we now have enough room, I decided to re-tame Ysuran. It took a while to find a good spot, but I finally got him. I'm so glad I did! Now I've both of my birdy buddies back!

On Abricot i got Banana. I love its colors and the fact that Abricot can stand under its protective wings. When vieved from above it looks like Banana is shielding her with its wings, completely hiding Abricot





The latest addition to Abricot stable is Peach. She is just so lovely fuzzy and i adore her colors.




Tårnfalk carrionbird is Annika. She is a raven and i love the look and size of her. She is named after Seven of Nine´s real name as her parents ship was called the raven





Mikaidos carrionbird is Gen'ei which means Apparition in Japanese
