If I did have to guess it would be something like Ragdoll/Domestic Shorthair or Siamese/Maine Coon (That would explain thickness).

But I'm not too savvy so... :p

i want to say he has silver tabby in him due to the markings and the eyes, but the other part(s) are unknown to me. Its doubtful theres ragdoll, unless it was a small fragment or the gene that causes long hair growth is recessive. He has very short hair so i'd say hes born from a long line of shorthair breeds. Im definitely feeling silver tabby tho, and im extremely curious to know what others his family has been bred with cause his overall color and pattern is extremely curious, i love it!

He reminds me so much of Lucky, he was a total lap cat and loved to be held and snuggled and have belly rubs. Im happy to hear you adopted him when you did! Musta been surreal walking outta there as people were entering inquiring about him @_@

I bought Skye a bed today. I was intending to use it to get his scent on it, then swap it out with Mia's so they could get used to each other's smell. Well, he um.....really likes his bed, if you catch my drift. He kneads it and then scoots about. Is this normal? He's definitely neutered so I'm not sure why he's loving up his bed. He never did this to anything else yesterday, just this bed. I also read that it might have something to do with kitten instincts? After he's had his way with his bed, he hops into my lap and starts suckling my shirt.

Are these things that I should just let him do, or try to discourage it? I've never had a cat that did this before, so I'm unsure what to do. I love him regardless of his quirks, but I just want to make sure he's okay. He certainly seems happy when he does it.

I uploaded a video of it to youtube, if folks want to take a look and tell me what he might be doing (and why he's doing it?).

Edit: Hmm, I just read this and it sounds interesting. It seems like it may not be so much about sexual urge, but more about change (he is in a new home) and wanting attention (he has been very clingy since I got him). Not only that, I'm right on the verge of my menstrual cycle. Maybe I'll just try to pay even more attention to him and see if it helps, and see if maybe it goes away after my cycle is done.

Um. That video looks like to me he's really loving on his bed. He even stops to clean his boy kitty parts when done. I would yes supply more attention but all discourage him from attempting to mate with his bed.
There are times when a male cat is neutered above a certain age the hormones remain there or it was not all got out. This doesn't appear to be for just wanting attention.

I took away his bed, and the behavior has stopped. So far, he hasn't tried any funny business on me yet. I'm wondering if there was just something about the bed that he liked. Really, really liked.

He does react to catnip. I bought him a fuzzy squirrel that you can stuff with catnip, and he went wild for it. At the end of his playing, it almost looked like he was getting ready to hump it. It could just be my imagination, but that's what it looked like. He ended up walking away though. So maybe those beds are treated with something and they just didn't say so.
