I only have one dog at the moment and that is Gytrash who resides with my huntress Synestra.
I knew from the moment I created Syn I'd be taming one of the plagued demonhounds; it was all a question of which one in the end. I was instantly attracted to the runed-skin variety and had conducted preliminary trials with each one before I determined that the red one was better suited for Synestra.
I still, from time to time, find myself thinking about the blue and green runed demonhounds. I really do like the design of the models overall but can't justify having more than one for Synestra with an almost full stable as it is. Still, I'm pretty darn happy with my decision I've made and view Gytrash as one of Synestra's permanent companions.

Although their special ability prevents me from using them too often, I do have a dog that I'm particularly attached to and use when soloing content.
His name is Omen and he's a white ghost dog from Kara. Here we are taking our bow before the Opera event.
The geometric mouths of the demon dogs is really troublesome to me.

I do hope they are fixed in the near future.

I tamed a mastiff on my pandaren hunter, Sujimay!
His name is Tei, named after Canine Warrior Tei from Okami. I thought it was a bit fitting since that character is covered in scars and I sort of imagine the scarlet mastiffs being covered in scars because I don't think they treat them very well.

So basically story is... Sujimay rescued one of the chained up dogs. XD I kind of wish I could edit screenshots of him a bit to show a few scars but I'm not really sure how to work that out.

But yeah, he's awesome, really enjoying him as a pet!

Just a big sweety who needed love~
Espen's red mastiff will change colors once Lost Gilnean Wardog is in the game!

So excited for that ^-^

Sparkernius the
Hellhound Plaguehound, who is probably going to be sticking around. Dogs haven't really struck a cord with me before, but Sparkles has a lot more grounding in my heart (after a a friend of mine savagely tore it in her novel) and a lot more personality. Plus, with my Basilisk, Crane and Porcupine, I'm getting used to using pets with slightly less useful pet abilities.

You're welcome. Just remember to give Sparkles lots of bagels and you'll do fine.

I have never liked female worgen.
That statement is, in a way, incorrect. I've always wanted a worgen. They were badass in every shape of the word--giant angry wolf people, and I really, really liked Gilneas. My first attempts at worgen were unsurprisingly, worgen hunters. Every one of them failed. I had a great worgen hunter in Beta, and no other hunter was the same. I had missed that worgen and his loyal plague puppy, Fel.
So I tried a mage. Fire mages were fun, and Kayleb the worgen was fairly successful--reaching all the way to his 50s, before I dropped him. It wasn't looking good for worgen. Every attempt I made, male or female, usually ended up dying. I would lose interest either before I left the zone, or shortly after.
The other day, I decided stubbornly I was going to make a female worgen. Maybe if I forced myself to play one long enough, it would work. Enter my new worgen hunter, Feliandra. I was toying with ideas for names, and being the dork I am, I decided to name my mastiff Cas, short for Castiel. Because I'm a Supernatural dork.
And surprisingly, it worked. I kept playing Fel, and I loved Cas to bits. He was a great dog, and despite taming a few other pets (Crowley, formerly Craw the Ravager, and Leviathan, formerly Hissperak), Cas consistently remained by my side. I really, really loved that dog. He was Fel's bro. And being the dork I am, Cas was a great name for him. If he died, I'd always feel sad. When he pulled through and stopped me from dying, I'd always have this goofy grin--of course Cas would save me from a horrible death. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hit 40 a few days ago, and it occurred to me that dogs weren't that useful for dungeons and I had to start thinking about pets for my instance roster. Wolves seemed like a good candidate, but I was reluctant to let go of Cas. That dog was one of my favorite pets. Nevertheless, Cas and I set out for Nighthowl.
After waiting fifteen minutes, the wolf in question spawned. I had chosen the ghostly black look for a reason, it seemed fitting for the rapidly becoming Supernatural theme I was developing. And then it hit me. Cas wasn't going to the stables forever, he was just shifting vessels. If I was going to have a Supernatural-based pet, I was going to use Supernatural logic, dammit.
Now I have Cas, formerly Nighthowl and he's every inch spectacular as Cas the dog was. Cas, as I had said, wasn't gone. He just took a new vessel to better suit my needs. It worked.
So if it weren't for Cas the dog, I probably wouldn't have Fel gone as far as she has. And between Cas and Lupis' Sparkles, I have grown a deep fondness for the goofy looking dogs.
