I always thought Pterrodaxes could have either a blind type ability or a fear or stun like bats.
If you get the Pterrodax hatchling pet, it explains how an adult Pterrodax could screech so loud that your ears could bleed. So I think something like that could effect your vision or just freak you out to run around in a fear.
I've also thought cranes could have a blind ability, like an eye peck.
I think Diemetradons would fit in just fine with crocolisks, honestly. Ankle crack makes sense for them, and they're SO similar... They're basically just a "prehistoric" crocolisk.

I'm still wondering if we'll get to tame the bigger versions of the snake mini pets roaming around tanaris and other places. It seems unlikely since they've been there since BC,but they did put them in a lot more zones in cata.

I'd love one with that model, but perhaps an updated skin. Just because the current one is SO pixelated. But man, even then I think I'd still try one. I just can't bond with a serpent fanned out all the time... well, except for one.

Birds of Prey and Carrion Birds were always different families. You are thinking that the Bird of Prey family was once called the Owl family and was renamed in Wrath to add eagles, hawks, and parrots. So, not a new family. Just a rename.
Aha, that was it! Knew my memory was fuzzy on something.

Wouldn't want a yak as a pet, but if there was an adorable minipet version....<3 Kind of like how I'd prefer Floof to Sambas.

I wouldnt mind more snakes, but not the minipet versions. Mainly cause they have poorly detail heads (very pixelated) and they doesnt have a mouth.
Id rather see a brand new take on it.

*nod* I like the idea of tameable snakes with that base model, but I'd definitely like to see an updated texture first, those ones just don't look very good blown up.

This is hilarious. But in all seriousness, I'd love basilisks and hydras as well. Maybe Marsh Walkers, too!

This is somewhat unrelated, but I didn't really know where to post this, so since we were on the subject of serpents...
This isn't any new pet or anything, no Jormy copy, I just accidentally typed "derpent" instead of "serpent" when typing something and this is what came to mind.
Sorry, I had to dump this somewhere.

Derpents fit into the serpent family quite nicely....

(There, back on track!)

Sorry about that

I was going to see if I could take the wings off of a wind serpent and make it look good (not something I'd really see in game, but cool idea if they gave em some land animations) and.. well yeah that happened. But yeah! Serpents. Need to stop being all fanned out all the time.

I think that's been brought up before, but as a bit of a nerd (well, ok, "bit" is a severe understatement) I'd have trouble with that as 2/3 of those things aren't dinosaurs, just prehistoric reptiles
But from a purely functional perspective it also wouldn't work, I don't think, as they'd fight in very different ways.

"Prehistoric reptiles" is a good family name! *nodnod*
But yeah, I agree; there are some major differences between them that would make it not work.
Just throwing random stuff out there.

pterrordaxes should totally go in the Birds of prey family.

I don't think they have the appropriate limbs for snatching things. I mean, I guess they could use their mouth, but that still leaves their ear-canal-shattering screeches to no use.

And what fun is a pet Pterrodax that doesn't make the enemies ears bleed?

Actually, the one thing all pterrordaxes in the game (I think it was all) have in common is some sort of mind control terror thing (hence the "pterror" part of their name). I remember the frakkers running me left and right in fear while I was trying to kill them! So I'd guess something like that would be the most fitting.

Well they DO have grabby feet... but yeah a screechy effect probably makes the most sense.

A fear is what I mentioned earlier. XD I always thought their fears were caused by a screech or something. I actually avoid killing dinosaurs as much as possible so I don't pay too much attention to their attack names.
*wowheads*
Edit: Okay yeah, the Frenzied Pterrordax just use an ability called
Terrify, but the Frenzied Pterrordax have
Terrifying Screech, and the Pterrordax scavengers have
Screech
