For some reason I thought they were removed.

Oh! I remember they're summoned during a quest chain in that area - not related to the Netherwing grind. You do something to the eggs and you can evolve a netherwing dragon from a whelp to a proto-drake to an adult or something along those lines. Crap, I'll try to remember the name of the quest, will edit this post if I find it.
EDIT: Aha, it was this quest in BEM
http://www.wowhead.com/quest=10609
They're not removed, but they're not there unless you're on the quest and spawn one to evolve it.

It was a very weird choice of intermediate between whelp and drake. I hope they removed it

Either way, it's a dragonkin not a basilisk, just a bad choice of model

Yes it was quite an odd choice of model. They could use the purple proto skin for it now!

As a general note (since this thread was kind of related):
If anyone wants one of the red basilisks from Mount Hyjal but you're already phased past them - you can have someone unphased kite one out to Winterspring. I just did this with Cae and it worked like a charm. I used my premade hunter who hadn't quested there yet, Cae waited on the road in Winterspring, and I slowly dragged him out to her.

Oops, ironically forgot to add the one basilisk added in MoP: the Stoneskin Basilisk of the Jade Forest (tameable).
Nothing seems to have changed in this last patch, though. I expected more (or all) to have been flagged tameable, but no change.

Oh. Was going to tame the OutlandYellow skin, but if it's the only one in Pandaria...maybe I'll switch to the Azeroth Green skin...will go better with the name Bamboo, anyway

True
There's a lot of reskinning work to come yet, I believe. So maybe it'll change appearances yet anyway. I'm not sure. I honestly think the old world basilisks would look better in Pandaria than the Outland ones. And their appearance really is pretty good for its age. I've been getting around Pandaria with a black one with blue crest and it doesn't look too dated at all.

Those are in ZD, right, Wain? I flew by those the other day and was actually kind of impressed, even though I am not a fan of the old world basilisk look.

Those would indeed blend into Pandaria!
Part of me is going "Nooooo, OL basilisks look great in Pandaria!" while the other part is going "Pretty sure the whole MUTATED THING doesn't make sense outside of Outland."

Yep, they're along the north-eastern edge of Northern Stranglethorn. The odd thing is that there are two colours, both called "Crystal Spine Basilisk", and Wowhead only lists one NPC id for them, but they don't colour switch! The black one has remained black as long as I've had it. The green one also doesn't change. Very odd

Maybe there's a second NPC id and Wowhead has neglected to flag it. Since macros don't work on the beta I've been meaning to check this on live.
Anyone find any new tameables this patch? I've been hoping other colours are now available.

Well nope. On live both colours have the same NPC id. There goes that theory. Unless they split the colours into separate ids on the beta.

I wonder if technology has improved enough for beasts to be able to keep the skin their tamed as while still having the same ID? Just another theory to throw out there I guess. XD

Actually I've been confirming that very thing and it indeed seems to be the case

I've checked four different "colour-changers" so far and on my way to check more. I'll open a new thread about it shortly.

This is entirely your fault, Wain.
We'll see how this goes, but until then, I blame you.
Yeah okay. You were right. <3

They do fit Pandaria, don't they?
And I love the name

Thanks!
He's my reborn crocolisk.

Twice over now...>_>
Couldn't put my finger on the lack of clicking before, but yeah....you're right about the old world basilisks having character.

Based on past years of questing, my interpretation of basilisk character is 'jerk.' To uh...put it nicely--maybe a tame one will be different...

Just starting to update this list. Please let me know if you see any old basilisks that have changed colours.
I'm also assuming most or all basilisks are now tameable. If you see it marked as not tameable on the list it'll be because I haven't checked it yet, unless I confirm otherwise.

Hopefully I can save you a bit of time. The following basilisks are tameable. None of them have changed colors.
Dampscale Basilisk
Dampscale Devourer
Ironspine Threshalisk
Ragestone Threshalisk
Ragestone Trampler
Stonegazer
