Do want Vale access.

So, um...

I just opened my bags to swap to my Crusader's Tabard. Upon using it and arriving in Icecrown, my backpack is empty and the rest of my bags are gone. My pet is also invisible in every way, shape, and form-not even the portrait under my name shows up, but trying to summon a different one while it's out gets a 'you can't do that, you already have a pet out' error. So it summons, I just can't see it. At all.

I was going to test out the pet talent switching with a freshly tamed Arcturis, as I've been having issues getting my existing pets to allow me to swap (everything other than their native spec is greyed out). Having no bags puts a HUGE damper on my plans to start leveling in the beta, though.

That sounds like massive server lag. I had the pet swapping issue earlier myself, multiple times. Didn't have the stuff-disappearing-from-bags bug, though. :/

Have you visited a pet trainer to swap your pet's spec manually?

Yeah, it didn't appear to give me the option unless I'm just dumb and overlooked it. This is entirely possible...after I check on Arc, I'll try again.

Edit: Could be server lag...all of the Tournament NPC's are invisible, although I can hear the doublet vendor hawking his wares.

So how on earth do you GET INTO the Vale? All I see is a giant locked gate and people who will not tell me anything.

I found the easiest way was to go into Kun-Lai Summit, then trek west until you get to the great wall thing. You can enter a building there and climb stairs to get to the wall itself, then just go south and jump over the wall into the Vale.

What I logged into in sholazar was nothing in my bag and no mobs around whatsoever it was a very freaky experience. That continues..

Yup, I had the same thing. I didn't see ANY NPC's whatsoever until I got to Crystalsong/Dragonblight border, and I started in Icecrown! Once I started seeing NPC's I relogged and my bags were back. Phew!

There's a small quest chain in Kun-Lai in the temple of the white tiger that will unlock the big gate to the Vale. Unfortunately, said quest is buggy and occasionally frustrating.

Yay found the stairwell and got in that way-I've not gotten past 87 yet on my hunter, as its been a mad house at work and I've barely had time to play with my friends in live, much less in beta. But, school is finally out, so I can play now! XD

Music in the Vale is gorgeous-this will be one expansion that I actually use the soundtrack from the Collector's Edition with regularity.

some sort of timed dungeon marathon by foot? sounds very interesting, wonder if it will be listed under achivements!

They're rewards for the challenge mode dungeons.

I was reading the directions to the vale and it said to go to the great wall. Is there a town nearby? Or a landmark that will show up on the map? Any info would be great I'm direction challenged:P

To get to the Vale without completing the buggy Temple of the White Tiger quest, go to the flight point at Shado-Pan Fallback in Kun-Lai Summit. If you've never been there before, it's just south of the small lake visible in the south-central part of the zone map. There's a stairway inside the building that gives access to the top of the wall and the flight point. Go south on the top of the wall until you zone into the Vale, then jump off the wall to the east--the pretty side!

Extra Credit: There is a flight point farther south on the top of the wall, but the only reason to get it is to access a dungeon there. I was able to Glyph of Camo stealth past the elite mob, then run through all the fighting. When you get to the closed door, just hop up on the ledge, shimmy around the corner, and jump down to the next section to continue.

Thank you very much for the directions! I can't get past the White Tiger quest, so this perfect.
