I was thinking I'd just have to make a premade mage to port there myself if I had to... so I guess it seems like they just really overlooked something with the already existing pre-mades?
Time to make character roster space. 8)
(But really, why isn't there a horde turtle vendor yet?)

As for not playing, I just haven't had anything to test lately.

Related note to this madness: Since the existing premade can hearth to Wayward Landing, I can actually see Jade Forest for half a second before it ports me out again. I wonder if I can try that in the future and possibly see in-progress zone changes. Uh, granted they actually do anything to Wayward Landing...

EDIT: So I just noticed (because I am the super-Horde and so I'm hardly ever in Stormwind)... is there really no way for a land-bound character to reach the area with Aysa? She seems to be surrounded by cliffs and walls, like "Rawr rawr let me meditate in peace!"

?

Aysa is located on the small island with the Turtle vendor so going through SW you can reach her by land. Unless you're talking about another area she's located at.

We only found one way to get to that area by land, and it required walking up a hill being clipped into by tree brush; it seemed kind of unintended. Or just not as obvious as I would have expected.

And it also looks like I'm effectively shut out of beta to test questing. One of my toons was in Jade Forest, got ported out, and the place I got ported to, I can't pickup the quests (grey to me).

They planned that real well...

Get to SW/Org and visit Admiral Placeholder. He'll give you the exp needed.

I had the same problem Slick. You need to get to Stormwind/Orgrimmar to start the new quests. Hopefully your hearthstone is set there otherwise ask a mage for a port.

Thanks, I finally found that out. One hunter is stuck, as his hearth is set in jade forest. For Slick, I was able to hearth back to SW and get that, and came back into a massive pvp zone, lol.

For awhile people were porting their low level toons, like level 1 and up, to the Valley and could buy the gear from the good ol Private and use it because there was no level restrictions on the gear. The bug has been fixed to were the gear can no longer be picked up by these low levels but don't know what happened to toons that got the gear before the restrictions.

Bahahaha!

In case people didn't read the Admiral's title text (like me), it says <The Most Interesting Questgiver in the World>.

Love it!

You could also walk into sw keep and jump into the water from the little garden area. Thats what I did on my lvl 32 monk :D

Has anyone posted this yet? Before and after comparisons of the Jade Forest map, indicating where they've modified stuff. Before, then after:

There are new villages in the north and south of the zone, where the Horde and Alliance landing points are. So I wonder if the starting areas will change much or if this is a phased thing. Maybe they want us to encounter Pandaren sooner (and the names of the villages would almost certainly have to be Pandaren... "Paw'don" and "Honeydew")

That sounds reasonable to me, Wain. :) After all, one of the key parts of LK and Cata was making sure that we truly felt the influence of the main boss everywhere. With no real end boss, the pandaren and the conflict related to their internal split takes center stage - so of course we should encounter them sooner. Makes perfect sense. :D

It's very fascinating to me that the horde town moved! I wonder why. :)

I wonder why they changed the name of the Ruins of Gan Shi to the Terrace of Ten Thunders. It's a neutral questing area...have they made it into something other than Mogu ruins?

Did they get rid of Hellscream's Fist? Or just forget to put the text back in...
Looks like there's no text for the Wayward Landing anymore either.

So I guess instead, we won't have the landing areas emphasized and we'll start in those new villages?
If it means less "BAWWW GRAAAAGHHHH KILL THE ALLIANCE", I'm all for it. >_>

I'd prefer less emphasis on faction conflict as well.

I'd guess that the theming remains, but the emphasis is more turned toward the pandaren split between the factions.

Just speculation, though. :)

I wonder if "Honeydew Village" is a reference to the Yogscast! :) They used to do lots of WoW videos back in Wrath and the other guy in the duo had a dwarf hunter called Honeydew. (If I recall that correctly, of course.)

Blizz occasionally likes to do a "shout-out" to contributors so this could be one of them or just a coincidence.

In regards to the new map though, it is interesting to see Wayward and the Crash Site replaced by villages and Hellscream's Fist completely removed. Maybe it does point to Blizz wanting to re-vamp Jade Forest so players meet the Pandarans before forming alliances and arming the Jinyu and Hozen for war. Which if they did that then that probably means that the Jinyu and Hozen story lines will be getting some tweaking too.

Actually, probably a few story lines/quests will be getting tweaked in other zones to reflect the changes in Jade Forest.

Probably when they enable add-ons.
