Yeah Blizz did say they really didn't like the way legendaries played out last expansion (current?) and that they became wayyy to common and lost their "legendary" feel. They said they planned on making it a lot less accessible now and would be more likely that 10 mans would struggle to get one and that a 25 man struggle to get a 2nd b4 the next content came out.
I really wish they'd stop screwing over 10 man on things like that. Our server isn't active enough to motivate 25 people to join the same guild. We have a million guilds with like 2 people in them, each, and there's no signs of that ever changing. Our raid guild works very hard and it takes forever to get anyone a legendary, even though we do just as work as a 25-man, who pumps out legendaries like no one's business. It's just not fair.
As for guild drama, I'm on the same boat. I'm the only hunter, and I really would have loved, after helping people get legendaries, that maybe they'd make a hunter legendary while I was actually raiding, and it'd finally be my turn to do the hard work and feel the warm fuzzies.
But instead, it'd just be something like "Oh, well of course Neilaren gets this legendary, she's the GM's significant other" if I got it. So naturally I'm already giving up on wanting it. If I'm chosen, which would always be a legit possibility; I work hard, try to have perfect attendance, and really pull my weight. But no, I'll back out and insist on reconsideration.
I'm sorry that sometimes couples play WoW, and they enjoy playing together, but I don't sit there and try to mooch gear or have power, OK? I'm not a Yes Man to the GM, in fact, there are very many times I publicly disagree with him. I refuse to be an officer or have any sort of guild power because I just hate when people have that kind of attitude and I'll do anything I can to deter it. Every time I see one of those "lol don't you hate when the GM invites his girlfriend into the game and gives her all of the attention and loot?" jokes floating around the internet it makes my stomach crawl. My friends know it's not the case here, but I'd prefer not to get lumped into that cliche from outsiders.
The fact that I have to go out of my way to essentially ruin my game experience just to avoid an undeserved bad reputation makes me so angry.
Anyway, what's more likely is that my boyfriend will claim the Legendary. After all, he's main tank, raid leader, and GM. The fact that there's been no legendary for him yet (and it took him like 200 Rag kills to get Sulfuras, to the point of it becoming a joke), and that he's had to maintain a guild even in times when it's become more of a chore than a fun pastime; He certainly deserves one by now.
It's just a bitter taste to keep watching other people get legendaries (while feeling that in some cases, they're just getting one because it so specifically requires their class...)
I can't even bother to have the motivation to farm a Thori'dal. It's just another cumbersome thing in my bags, and I won't feel accomplished from getting one, since it's just RNG. I got a Thunderfury back when the SO was doing all those Sulfuras runs, and even that feels dumb to me.
I just want some thing, it doesn't have to be a legendary, that people chip in and help me get; something I can feel accomplished for getting, something that can make me feel warm and fuzzy because other people helped me and maybe actually wanted to help me with, and something that I won't feel bad for being "chosen" to receive.
Just one of my fantasies, as usual, like the time when I was feeling really depressed in many ways and there was this hope that maybe my friends were plotting all sorts of ways to cheer me up, maybe buying me something trivial in-game or writing simple mails or even just saying something nice; But nothing happened. It's just me, being over-optimistic.
Aaaaaanyway, to stop being a downer, I like the idea of the "anyone" legendary, just in case you just don't happen to have an x spec y class, but I'm really waiting for the wall of drama to commence.
At least my guild's potential drama is extremely mild. No one's going to argue with the GM if he claims it, seriously.

I'll probably just rib him a little; I think that's my job.

It looks like there will likely be an epic item of each given item, with the name "Sha-Touched (Insert rest of name)", then you use the legendary item on that Sha-Touched weapon/shield of choice, and it becomes the Legendary weapon/shield you wanted.
This brings up several important questions. Firstly, who gets the legendary mats first in a guild? If anyone of any spec of any class can get this Legendary, how do you choose? Secondly, are certain classes going to be able to get 2? What if you get the Sword AND shield, for tanking? Or the Mace and Shield? Perhaps the fist weapon is good for Rogues, will they get the Dagger AND Fist weapon?
That's my input for now.
Actually, what I think it will be doing, is that you upgrade the raid drop to legendary status.
That is essentially what I meant. You'll get a raid drop that will likely have "Sha-Touched" in it's name, and using this item upgrades (and I'll assume wipes the "Sha-Touched") to a legendary item with the 513 iLvl and stats to match.

So cool to see hunters getting some legendary love. Its been a while.
(And a shield? Oo thats awesome. I was talking to my guild about the prospects of a legendary shield with awesome shield slam buffs/abilities)
too bad its a gun though. I don’t like the looks of most guns and I prefer the softer sound of a bow to the rapid crack of a gun. I can get used to it if I have too. Hope these things have an awesome quest line.

They uh, actually already talked about this. It was on mmo-champ, but I'm lazy so you have to find the source, where you have a drink with the Black Prince and then you can do his quest chain in which he offers you a Sha-touched reward (scale? piece of metal? it's been a while) that you can add to your weapon like we add scopes to ranged now.
The numbers on them were delicious.

I am so sorry, I have such a headache, I'll source later.
So I'm betting that you have to get the weapon for a raid, then get buddy-buddy with Wrathion and do his song and dance, and THEN legendary. Might make them more epic than the old drop system imho. And I'd like something more steampunk like the Ulduar guns, if anyone up there is listening. I love me some steampunk.

I feel for you, Neilaren.
I would LOVE a legendary, but it might be going to my fiance who has been messed out of 2 legendaries. Once during ICC, and once during FL. He was a DK and working on his DK sword of awesome when Cata hit. Then, he was 3rd in line to get the staff when he went lock for Cata. As soon as he got close, we started DS.

man. I wanna hug him like.. RIGHT NOW.
At least, that's how
I would do it. But, we do have mainly couples in our raid group and have been raiding together for YEEAAARRRSSS (way back in early Wrath! Think about that! ONE TEAM! WOOT!). Including GM and his wife. I assume being the GM's wife gets you perks. I mean, that's all part of a relationship that extends even out of the game. So, she may get it or he might, being MT and all. Though, being she got the staff for sure this xpac, and knowing she doesn't let perks get pushed to an annoying level, she probably will pass this upcoming xpac. Then we have our extremely annoying, loud, super entitled off tank... harumph.
As for me? I just never had the chance at it. I wasn't a raider back in BC.
Though, I do have a concern:
Can you use the enchant on an upgraded weapon, or are you locked into that weapon for the entire xpac?
If so, and I happen to get it, my gun/bow had better be extra pretty >:(

Am I the only one that thinks blizz took the easy way out with this?
if this comes out in the first tier it means potentially rogues can get an"other legendary again" and so do the casters. -_-
this looks way to generic to me and not to mention can cause a big ass drama on top of it since everyone (class) can get it.
btw is it possible for multiple people to work on the chain at the same time? (aka the drops you need from raid bosses most likely)
and where is the damn bow icon >_>

Possibly could be raid-specific Legendaries like used on the KT fight ;3. We can only hope! And blizzard is just trolling us until they reveal the real legendary. But, seeing the dialoge of the Black Prince, dunno what to think yet :/!

I wonder if these legendaries are supposed to last the entire expansion, since everyone is going to be eligible for one. That would definitely be a different way of doing things...

I linked the page in an earlier post.
And to Galaxy, on your last question. As far as I can tell, the "enchant" increases stats and ilvl to 513 value, so I'm not sure upgrading a later weapon would be worth it, even if there are later on "Sha-Touched" weapons.
From what I see on the WoWhead page, I don't see how this couldn't be available to everyone. It says that 10 Sigil of Power and 10 Sigil of Wisdom are required for the 2nd quest (1st is just a rep grind), these drop from bosses in the first set of raids. If everyone on the quest is capable of looting them, that's still 20 boss kills at the least. Then you must get the Chimera of Fear which drops off the Sha of Fear, the final boss in the Terrace of Endless Spring. If this drops once per kill, it's 10 kills, if it drops for everyone on the quest, then it's still the final boss of a raid that you have to kill for anyone working on the legendary. It's supposed to continue on into 5.1 (the chain quest), and the final quest nets you the 513 "Enchant" that powers up your "Sha-Touched" weapon.
To me, this sounds like they're trying to make this a fair, and simple, yet not easy item to get. The only thing that I can see making this less likely for multiple people to get is if the Sigils don't drop 1 for everyone on the quest, but instead 1 overall for every boss fight. Then that's 20 bosses at the least, for 1 person.

Hmmm the tool-tip on the epic item itself intrigues me. "The powers of the last black dragon are yours to wield" So...whats the connection between the Sha and the Black dragons? Wrathion is the last
uncorrupted dragon. You save him as an egg in the Badlands during questing. A red dragon sacrifices her life and her own children (eggs) in order to ensure that he survives. (Which is why I hate that blizzard made him such a ...)
As far as we are aware in lore, the black dragons are indeed extinct. Alexstrasza ordered their extermination after Deathwing returned, meaning although they're still in game, lore wise, they probably are all dead.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how they deal with this... but they better offer a bow/xbow. Last time I checked, you can't transmog a legendary, either to or from another look.
