I noticed, and laughed irl. But then I just had to tell Kalli how awesome she is.

I have been keenly following the other thread and living vicariously through you all, as my computer throws a tantrum whenever I try to download the beta. I am amazed you found them all so quickly, so congratulations! And thanks for putting up this thread, it's great to be able to see them all together.
I love this mechanic, and the idea of pursuing a beast, and not only that, it reduces the chances of some griefer killing your beast. It would be great if they added a similar mechanic for the new spirit beasts, except maybe harder or a longer spawn timer. Or both.

Well, the timers were confirmed to be shorter for testing purposes, I thought?

They have been. I'll add that to the first post.

There was a confirmation that the mysterious tracks from the white Fen Strider can spawn in north Dread Wastes (south of Kypari Vor).

I am really hoping it wont be on a long timer.. waiting 6-12 hours to run to run around for 2+ hours finding tracks would make it extremely hectic for any hunter involved... its not like rares now where you go to the spawn point and wait or can do a quick fly by with your npcscanner. These unique skinned (not rare) mobs have multiple paths all around a large span area. But since they arent really considered rares just elites I think make it a 2hour wait time if need be. Its just unique skinned elite mobs that are fun to hunt yes, but I forsee alot of sanity dropping hunting these things down. No npcscanner to blare at you when the creature pops up, just alot of running and luck.

We have no idea yet if they will retain the elite tag or if it'll become something more silver down the line, yet.
Even if it doesn't, wasn't King Mosh a rare without the silver tag at one point? I remember when I was tackling him with a friend in BC, it was the first time I'd ever seen him...and his tag wasn't silver. He had a fairly long timer at the time, too! And hurt. A lot. He ate my face. He ate me and my friend's face. I was severely disappointed when he dropped nothing, after all that effort (I think we finally pulled a third person in because he'd nuke my pet in a few hits and then come nom on the hunter and mage).
I'm not sure if this is an argument for, or against, or just nostalgia. I guess I would understand if they kept the tag the same while lengthening the timer, is what I'm saying. I think.

And I can imagine the rest of the players... watching 50 hunters run in little circles around a certain area.. all moving slowing...
It will be amusing...

I think.. id lose my mind. Especially since alot of these skin colors are wildy popular.. Think it'll be worse then camping because the tracks arent easy to spot, its not just one little area but a huge path that spands quite a distance. Compile that with little itty bitty tracks and the huge difficultly of actually getting the creature it wouldnt that much fun. If people complained about not having the time to camp for a rare they really want just picture it of having to look for 6-12+ hours, spend over an hour trying to find tracks, then spend even longer using your flare in hopes of catching it before the other hunters or numerous people questing get to it first (mob spotted in flare, people see mob). For people with not alot of time on their hands because of work or school it would be extremely hard unless they go lucky. The tracks arent always easy to spot and ive actually seen Savage tracks on the other side where he was tamed. So even if the pet is up itll be difficult for those on a short timer

its alot more entertaining on beta because of the shorter respawn timer, ive seen alot of hunters come together to help each other. May be slightly different if its on such a long respawn timer.

I think in some of the more heavily populated areas, the random bunch of hunters running around flaring and getting nothing has netted some amused glances.

Eee such tidy information, thank you Kalli! And I'm going to try and avoid maps for these rares like the plague, I really wanna hunt these guys! I'm not even trying to memorize which prints belong to which rare, since I think it'll be fun to flush them out myself and when I finally find them, then I can decide if I really want to tame them or not!

Looking at the prints helps a bit for finding what you're looking for in certain zones, so at least you know you have the option.
Especially Patrannache's tracks. x_x So tiny!
Edited because I quoted the wrong thing.

... Not entirely sure what that's got to do with my question about new spirit beasts but... okay. xD

Derp, sorry. Brain on overload. I thought I had added a note about the upcoming 5.1 rares, but it looks like I didn't after all. I'll fix that.
In 5.1, we'll be getting the first MoP spirit beasts and the rare silkworm, who apparently dawdled and missed the expansion release.

It's the tiny feet! ...I don't want to think about how hard its tracks will be to see

Thank you Kalli for making the thread, and to all of those involved with tracking them down! I am really looking forward to finding these guys, and I rather agree that posting maps would take away a lot of the pleasure involved. Still, different strokes and all that.

In the thread all this info was taken from that's like 10 pages long. XD
