I am logged in right now, hoping to see him before server reset.


EDIT: No go there. Even sat through the server reset and no luck.

No go on my pre-work camp either.

No go this morning after work. Tonight is my last work night for the week, so tomorrow evening I will be able to pick up my camp again for at least three days. Hopefully this bastard will spawn then.

Ok so my work week is done. After 52 hours at work, I should have at least 36 to spend camping this weekend.

Now the hunt is back on. I got til about 6:30am on this. So ~14 hours.

7 hours so far, nothing.

Coming up on the 12 hours mark. I think I can go for 4 more hours. Nothing at this point though.

I hope you're not just sat there, staring into the oblivion that is Deepholm! (; It can drive you nuts. Camping is the perfect time to catch up on other stuff, like other games and reading.

Unfortunately, my computer can not run WoW and anything else besides a web browser very well. So another game is out of the question. My wife also works during the day so I can't really watch TV. Basically I just sit in Deepholm and watch youtube or look at the forum or Reddit or something of that nature. Every few minutes I go back to WoW and do a loop. Rinse and Repeat.


Going on 60 hours now with no sign of any rare out here. Odd, my first three sightings of Aeonaxx weren't this far apart.

Well that's it for me today. There is going to be a server reset between 1pm and 2pm my time today. I will wake up for that reset so I can check before and after. May go back to sleep afterward.

Ok so nothing on that server reset earlier. Now I am back on the hunt until probably 7am or so.

Nothing yet... but I have a question.


In your opinion, is it better to camp directly on top of a spawn point (where you might be able to see another one as well) or is it better to camp between spots where you can see three to four but will have to fly regardless?

I tend to camp between a few spawn points, so I have a better chance of setting off NPC scan if he spawns. I'd hate it if he spawned in a spot I wasn't camping. >.< I do that whenever I camp rares with multiple spawn points- choose the spot that will make my chances of seeing it the highest, even if it means moving quickly once it spawns.

This is my thought to, but I have already lost Aeonaxx once to that. Spawned and I was very quick but there was a person already sitting on top of the spawn point so I couldn't fly there faster then they could just click on him. The only really bad downside with Aeonaxx is Blood Seeker. Blood Seekers visual threshold is low which means NPCScan won't go off unless you sit on top of the spawn points. That in turn means I could just be sitting here for no reason in a 6 hour cool down timer without knowing.

Oh hmm, that is a problem. I wasn't aware of the Blood Seeker issue. And blargh, yeah, losing him must have sucked. >.< I honestly only ever manage to get rare mounts through dumb luck, so I can't say I know the best way to camp Aeo.

I still tend to agree with you, even though I know I may be wasting my time our here waiting because of a Blood Seeker spawn that I missed. Losing him sucks but one day he will spawn at 5am or 6am when there is no one else out here and I will get him. That may not be for several years though LOL.
