Madexx and his lookalikes now have their own unique sounds.

I thought it was the Cataclysm models in general, including Madexx lookalikes?

Edit - Yep, the new file is unique to the Madexx model, both common and rare varieties.

From what I can tell, the common mobs with the Madexx model also have the new sound. Or at least the brown ones in Uldum do.

Haha! Except my Madexx is a girl, ChaCha. No matter! She can out-man any dude around!

Indeed! XD Some ladies do have deeper voices.

Surely one of the soundchanger addons can switch it back? Kinda liked it better before...

The sound things never changed the sounds to something else. They usually just muted it.

Ditto. It's fun, having a unique sound, but what they have is way too loud and angry. I like the regular chattery scorp sound, not this. But there's no way in hell I'm gonna abandon Scrapper after hunting him for so long, just because of noises.
I know there's a Warlock addon that replaces the Imp and Succubus dialogue with the NPC mob sounds, and there's one to change the horrible shrieking DK mount-summon sound with an ominous thunderclap - we need one for Madexx too.

Of course you can change sounds. All my cats sound like Loque.
I'll play around with the files and see if I can make a Madexx -> common armored scorpid sound mod. Or do you guys want Madexx -> normal scorpid sounds? This is the first time I had an armored scorpid so I don't know what sounds he had before.
I just tamed Madexx myself and a Vemonscale Spitter and they do make different sounds. They are similar, but Madexx is a lot more low pitched and with more echo.

So just to clarify, is this new sound unique to the four NPCs actually called "Madexx"?
Do all the other beasts that use the Cata scorpid model have the same sound as the old scorpids?
And I wonder about all the new scorpids in Pandaria, which all use the Cata model, some with old skins, some with amber.

I know for a fact that the common browns in Uldum (What are they called? Urgh, I have to look it up. *Goes to do so* ... *Comes back* Aha! Venomscale Spitters.) have the new sound. I went and poked one of them the other day. I haven't personally checked any other commons with the Cata scorpid model, but from the reports of others who have done so...
Yeah, it's the entire model, not just Madexx itself. c:

I'm guessing they all use new sound files (I'm not sure since I never tamed an armored scorpid before but guessing they made the same sounds as the old world scorpids did?), but Madexx's sounds are different from the common versions. Madexx is more low pitched with added echo compared to the the common version I tamed.

Really? Huh. I didn't even notice. Which is.. Odd, since I have my own Madexx and was toying around with him and the new sound around the time I checked the common ones. I guess I'll have to go do so again. XD I guess that means Madexx DOES have a unique sound. Derp.

This is the exact question I came to this thread to ask

I have one of the amber Scorpids tamed in beta, but with my hearing difficulties, I probably wouldn't be the best person to test it.

Well that's all a good and confusing range of answers

I think I'll leave off any comment on it on Petopia at the moment. It sounds like everyone agrees that the Cata model has different sounds to the old model, but there's varying reports on how sounds vary amongst them. It could be that some commons share sounds with Madexx and some don't.

I just tamed my Madexx a few minutes ago and straight away I thought he sounded different! I knew someone must've picked it up over on Petopia so I found this thread.

And am I hearing things or does his running animation even have a unique new sound? There's a little clickyclick sound when he's running I've never noticed before.

I noticed he does. Sounds more like hooves to me. XD
