To me the Rhinos are too big as well. I want a pet that looks like it could rip a Tauren's face off. Yaks just don't do it. You might as well have a Cow. I'm most partial to cats because they have the best fighting animations by far. Raptors aren't bad in that way either. I like my Skoll but the fighting animation looks stupid and his run isn't that great either.

Maybe its just time to take a break? With all the hype of the Expac its easy to be let down if its not what you thought it would be.
I just remember being incredibly hyped and stoked for a little now unknown-to-many game called Star Wars the Old Republic. I overhyped it to myself (no help from bioware and EA to not-overhype it, i think it was probably the most over-hyped mmo game in history) and felt a bit betrayed almost after a month or so into the game.
I got burned out bad in Cata right after Firelands patch hit, and quit until I got a scroll of res sent to me which got me back in the game. I'm loving Pandaria right now but I think if I had not quit for 6 months, I would be on a steady burn out atm. I find its always good to take a month break here and there from this game. (just a idea)

In appearance yes, in demeanor, no. Just a big cow with horns.

Buffalos are really skitz animals (we're talking wild African ones here, not the tame Indian ones). They trample lions (especially the cubs) and crocodiles to death when threatened or their young are threatened. Here is the section on "Attacks" from Wikipedia:
Known as one of the "big five", "Black Death" or "widowmaker" in Africa, the African buffalo is widely regarded as a very dangerous animal, as it gores and kills over 200 people every year. Buffaloes are sometimes reported to kill more people in Africa than any other animal, although the same claim is also made of hippos and crocodiles. Buffaloes are notorious among big game hunters as very dangerous animals, with wounded animals reported to ambush and attack pursuers.

Ask any farmer if cows are really as docile and sweet as they seem. Bulls certainly aren't. I mean they don't breed ferocious rodeo bulls for nothing! Have you seen a mama cow trying to protect her baby? And like Loki said African Buffalo are one of the most ferocious animals on the planet. Wild Yaks are known to fight to the death for dominance and can rip a wolf open with one horn toss. Carnivores get the big bad image but the herbivores can be just as deadly and vicious.
I have no problem seeing a Yak as fearsome fighting Hunter pet!

I love the Water Striders, they're my favorite species of this expansion. Quilen, especially the stone ones, are second.
However, if any of the Three Untameables of MoP were implemented, they'd certainly give the striders and quilen a run for their money. Yaks are cute and fluffy, mushan are huge friggin lizards, and kunchong are just upgraded silithid colossi that look badass.
Doing the quests in the Dread Wastes to raise the kunchong just makes me sad.
And you can't say "you can't tame them because they're too intelligent" : multiple NPCs exist in game with the sole purpose of using sonic powers to control the dumber kunchong into submission!

The kuchong may not be intelligent persay, but Blizzard seems to making the
entire race more intelligent than silithids. I also think those NPCs are more to stop them going on wild rampages than just making up for their stupidity. I could easily see them becoming tameable though; don't get me wrong.

Exactly. There's a micro-chain where you actually get a "tame" kuchong flying around with you, and the quests involve feeding it (by gathering meat from nearby mobs) and (indirectly since you cannot control it) teaching it to fight by attacking other mobs and letting it attack them with you.
Said "tame" kuchong is even part of a daily where the "training" continues... but he's MUCH bigger by then!

Yeah he is....noisy lil bugger he was, though. If they do become tameable, I hope he isn't that chatty like he is in the quest. XD

I understand what you're coming at, but do realize that the kunchong and mantids are completely different species.
The cycle of Mantid birthing and building revolves around the Kunchong, a colossal insect large enough to threaten whole towns by itself. The Mantid revere this enormous creature, and when instinct compels it to stampede throughout the continent, eating earth, trees, and lakes, they follow behind, collecting the amber-colored resin it secretes, birthing their young and creating their homes in its wake. If other races’ homes are trampled by the Kunchong, it is of little consequence to the Mantid. Where the Kunchong’s shadow falls, they walk. Where they walk, the land is transformed.
From the WoW Battle.net website.
While their lives are intertwined, they are not related at all. The Mantid simply use the strength of the kunchong to aid them.

I really don't mind questing, but this is the first expansion that I have felt that actual questing feels like a grind... and boring... and I really don't want to jump into a dungeon queue because I have other things in my life better to do than have to wait and be THERE when the queue pops... or when everyone is ready.
This is off topic from what's now being discussed, but this struck me- mostly because, oddly enough, this is the only expansion that has me *enjoying* the questing. xD For me, all the other expansions have seemed very lackluster when it came to quests, even the revamped Cata zones- and especially the new cata zones.

I agree that MoP questing is really great. I'm even enjoying the dailies. I can't put my finger on what is so different but questing is just a lot more fun than it used to be.

I couldn't agree more with Lupis, Jesse and Sesamee. I've taken 11 characters through the Jade Forest already, and I can't say I have ever been bored yet. The quests and atmosphere are great, the scenery breathtaking. I have two more characters to do them with, and while I am glad to move on to see more of the expansion, I can honestly say it will be hard for the other areas to top the Jade Forest for me, both in questing, storyline and appearance. But I look forward to seeing their attempts!

I'm glad so many other people are enjoying it. I'm loving it

There are some great storylines. None more so for me than the one that culminates in a very dramatic cutscene at the end of Jade Forest. It was very well edited and literally gave me goosebumps.
I have to defend the Cata quest chains, however. The Harrison Jones ones in Uldum are some of the most amazing ever, to me. And the dwarf ones in TH were brilliant. The Horde ones, not so much for me.

You mean the one involving the Jade Statue? Oh yes! when I first saw that I was like O.O "Oh....shiz....."
Harrison jones was amusing but....it didn't quite grab me like these did. I enjoy the Hyjal ones a little bit.

While I think the MoP questing is good, I would still rate it slightly behind that in Cata. I too really enjoyed Uldum and Harrison Jones. The storyline of the old ones in Hyjal was very good too and Vashj'ir was just visually stunning and very different with the added dimension of being underwater. Deepholm to me was just blah and Twilight Highlands was sometimes actually boring. Jade Forest is the best zone in MoP. Now that I have reached 90, however, I will say that max level questing and dailies are far superior to anything we have seen before. Since only half my 10 man raiding team has reached 90 so far, I have not done any dungeons or raids yet. Our GM is still only at 86

.
For me the worst questing, and the zones I dread entering on alts, is found in Outland. The only zone there that I liked was Nagrand.
