FFXIV is insanely pretty too!! But yes it require one heck of a machine if u want it to be pretty.. off u can play it on low settings but then IMO the hole point kinda goes away
The good thing about Aion is that i dont have to pay for the game which is why im playing it atm - sad that they dont support any other os then windows :/

No, I like seeing all your pics, so keep posting them!!! I played Aion for a while, so it's refreshing to see someone as excited about it as I used to be. My excitement is now poured into Guild Wars 2, but nevertheless, I like seeing pics from good ol' Aion.

I'm enjoying the pictures as well.

I couldn't get into Aion myself, but it's nice being able to see the creatures without playing it. I've always loved mob designs in games regardless of if I play them or not.

so EU Aion still has a pay option?
it seems that the NA version no longer even offers the possibility of paying.
no gold membership, not even the "legacy" membership (those people even lost the perks they had for their Legacy membership). it's now "all free". period.

you can also buy aion coins and that way buy a gold membership. have you tried going into the shop on your char in game?

yes, on the NA servers, you can buy items, but not membership.
there is no "gold membership" anymore.
maybe the EU servers will follow suit eventually and do away with paid membership?

Those cat/weasel things are pretty neat with the long spikes on their back.

I really, really love the diversity of the creatures in this game. I wish I could get into it just to explore and see them, but I didn't like the playstyle at all. It's fun seeing these screenshots at least.

There's another thing I discovered this week about Aion that I most definitely do NOT like.
It installs a little program called "Pando Media Booster" (PMB.exe).
This program just gobbles up your ram and your processor. It's a hidden program.
My computer had slowed to a crawl this week because of it, it was making work next to impossible.
The second I found and removed that program, my computer was back to its sprightly self.
So I think I've crossed Aion off my "to play" list.

Ergh, League of Legends installs that as well which is one of the reasons I didn't keep it, though I enjoyed the bit I played. I didn't notice that with Aion, but I had it for less than a day before uninstalling everything. It really does mess with your computer, back when I tried LoL for the first time I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what was going on with my computer until I found it.

I could be thinking of the wrong game, but I think Aion's "security" feature also installed a benign root kit. That didn't make me very comfortable. Not sure if it's still there or not, though. Didn't know about the pmb.exe, though. If I were to get rid of it, would I still be able to play League of Legends? I love that game and I don't want to stop playing it (especially not since I finally got my coveted Mafia Graves skin!).
