Overall I'm pretty happy with MoP, but this expansion my play time has been far less than the others. I was really looking forward to the rep grinds/mounts, but even I feel overwhelmed I have only reached exalted with the farmers and the dragon riders so far. It bothers me that I haven't gotten many new mounts either because of that. I don't approve of how expensive everything has gotten gold wise either. I also thought we would have spirit beasts in the first patch I recall them saying that, but I might be wrong. It's a big let down. But I love killing the sha of anger, I like exploring, and am having fun.

Overally, I'm enjoying MoP. I think it's a close second to LK as far as expansions go. There are some bits I'm not keen on though.

Dailies: Like a lot of others, I feel that there are just too many factions at once that are kinda-sorta 'required' if you want to raid at all. Gating two of those behind Golden Lotus makes that even more annoying. There also are just too many to be done, I think. I can log on, do Golden Lotus, Shado Pan, Celestials, and a little work for the individual Tiller people who aren't best friends yet, and my time is pretty much up. I don't mind grinding dailies, but they pretty much take up most of the available time I have.

The nature of them is a thorn as well. While a couple of them vary, I'd really like a day where I didn't have to kill 12 mogu. As a tank, I could conceivably grab half a dozen at once and grind them down, but that's not possible because of all the competition to tag the things. There are a lot of people grinding the same stuff in a fairly small area. On the plus side, as a tank, I can pretty much always get the 'kill 3 dragons' or 'kill the behemoth' ones done quickly because there are usually 3-5 people just sitting there staring at the things and not wanting to take them on solo. I just dismount, pull, and poof, people join in to burn the things down. Unfortunately, competition for the other quest items (those gawdawful mogu runes! ugh) make finishing each minihub take forever. I really would like it if the required numbers were halved. Not because I'm lazy, but just because it's annoying as heck to be searching forever for another rune or flower or pack of oddly-meatless gazelle so that I can get 12. (and don't get me started on fatty goatsteak. I've pulled two packs of those things at once, gotten headbutted all over the place by a dozen goats and ended up with 1 steak. Yeah, that's fun)

If the rep gains were at least a bit bigger, the dailies would be more tolerable. I don't expect to get to exalted within a week, but dang it sure seems like slow going. I understand Blizzard doesn't want us just tossing on a tabard and getting 'free' rep from dungeons, but some other alternative'd be nice. How about something like the old Darkmoon Faire where we could turn in X number of stacks of some gathering/production profession item for a rep token? Even better if they were universal, so I could go to and NPC in Two Moons/Seven Stars, give 'em 5 stacks of ghost iron ore or bars or whatever, get a token which I could turn in to whichever faction I want to work on. Make it a daily so someone can't just turn in 11 zillion stacks in one day to get to exalted.

Oh, and even when I do finish the grinds, there's always the alts. Sure, eventually they'll be able to get faster rep due to my one char being revered or exalted or whatever, but that still won't alleviate the grind all that much.

Cooking: At first, the Tillers and the Ways seemed kind of neat, but it lost it's shine for me. I try to max out cooking with all my chars eventually, but this expansion may see me just having one who can do all the Ways. It's a pain to have to gather/grow so many mats for each Way.

CRZ: I dislike it. I don't hate and loathe it, but I do find it more annoying than beneficial. Like a lot of others, I've gotten excited at spotting some hard-to-find battle pet while on a taxi or while flying into a zone, only to end up on another server when I actually landed with the beast nowhere around. Thanks to CRZ, my Tauren monk is the first of my characters ever with herbalism that is nowhere near maxed out for his level. Up until my 20's, I was *still* going back to Mulgore for herbalism skillups. The zones aren't crowded, but dang, Earthen Ring and Kirin'Tor must have a lot of herb and ore farmers, because my alts rarely are able to find all that many.

The handoff between servers tends to be annoying as well. I know it's minor, but I really hate that 1-3 second jolt when going in or out of Orgrimmar or UC. It's also a bit of a pet peeve that Thunder Bluff isn't on my home server.

Cross realm and CRZ isn't usually too bad, but can be a bit surprising. My first lil surprise with that was in a cross-realm group that was forming for PvP. While waiting for the last few people to be found and invited, I was doing some dailies. I'd just finished killing some Saurok leader when I was suddenly on a PvP realm surrounded by a LOT of Alliance. I figured a hasty hearth to Two Moons and the portal back to Org was in order.

Bag space: ARghh! Not only do I need 12 tons of mats to level cooking and/or make banquets, but I also get to use up bag space for lesser tokens (thank goodness they'll be currency soon) of which I can only turn in 90 a week? "Hello weekly quest guy. I have 400+ of these tokens eating up space. What? You'll only take 90?" Add in gear, quest items, valuable grey drops and fun toys that I really don't want to part with (That Botecelli Vinus Rising clamshell thing is so much win) and it gets bad fast. Thank goodness all my characters now have a Travelers Tundra Mammoth due to account-wide mounts. Poor Drix Blackwrench gets a lot of opportunities to complain about being abandoned during the course of my dailies.

While all this is kind of negative, I should repeat that I'm enjoying the expansion overall.

Why yes, Mr. Sha! It does....here are a few things that are...

1. CRZ - It can just go die in a fire. Okay? My friend and I have been after these Scourged Whelpings for awhile....I see them on Moon guard ALL THE TIME but the moment I land....bam! Nope! Also many friends lost TLPD and Aeonaxx this way. I get Blizz wants others to see people but this was horrid.

2. Alani's crystals - Near impossible to get unless you're SUPER lucky....--;

3. Dailies - I don't mind them....I mind the craptastical number we get for each daily when it comes to Klaxxi and Golden Lotus. Anywhere between 115 - 250. It's retarded! If they bumped it to 350 or even 440...I'd be content and it wouldn't feel like such a damn drag.

Alani's crystals are pointless to grind for a casual player. No fun for this mount. It seemed like a fun idea at first, but stupid stupid stupid stupid. Even casuals were able to camp 30 minutes here and there in Storm Peaks hoping to get lucky. Better than "takes about 2-3 hours of killing non-stop to get 1 shard"

Or pehaps make those crystals spawn like the Camel Statues used to every 6ish hours.

Suck Lotus Dailies sucked the fun out of the game. Oh you got honored now? Great here is twice the amount of the exact same dailies for you. Oh you're at revered? Now here is 3 times the amount of the exact same dailies for you.

115 rep a piece or whatever it was did seem like Vanilla rep rewards. They did good with Tillers and Cloud Serpents and failed with golden lotus, shado-pan and celestials. You shouldn't have to make it all the way to revered with Suck Lotus to start dailies on other factions.

meh whatever

I do like how they did normal questing in MOP. How there are many quest hubs in each zone and there isn't much of a prerequisite needed for most hubs.
Indeed. Hell I've been grinding GL a lot since the expansion, only have ONE shard. My fiance has 2. -_-;

Seriously. I'd rather do the quests like the Order of the Cloud Serpent. "Here's 6+ quests that give you 550 rep each!"

But yeah. Tillers and Serpents are hella fun to do(except that goatsteak one....). The rest are just "Oh god shoot me now!" Especially that damn torch....

Aside from what I listed, I enjoy MoP. Questing is fun. I enjoy the story. I enjoy seeing Chen and LiLi and Mudmug. Though, whatever happened to Uncle Gao and what's gonna happen to the brewery?

I also only have one skyshard and I'm exalted with all the factions now except Shado-Pan and the Celestials. How anybody could get 10 is beyond me.

Pure luck. It's incredibly random. On the beta I managed to get 3 or 4 on my toon while levelling GL rep. On Live I got none. Of my friends only one has one at all. In fact it was funny because only 5 minutes before he got it he had asked me what the big red dragon was and I explained about the skyshards :P

If they don't get to it earlier, it could make an interesting addition to Brewfest next year :) And hopefully an "alemental" pet!

The following post is written by a player on a very low population PvP server. Your own results may vary.

The more the expansion goes on, the more I see the downsides of the cross-realm zones. Due to my realm's low population, it's significantly harder to gather nodes in Outland than it is in Pandaria. I was crossing multiple zones without seeing a single mining node (guess no herbers were on; I saw plenty of flowers). This doesn't even begin to cover the sheer amount of ganking in Blasted Lands and Hellfire. I mean, it was always bad in Hellfire, but this is even worse than it was in BC. This isn't a case of "cry more, you rolled on a PvP server" - this is massive overpopulation. Maybe the guards need beefing up again in the towns to help counter the 90s ganking.

A related problem is that our auction house's woes are still going strong. Much as I don't want to see server merges, I'd prefer something like that compared to what we've got now. I'd like to get to know a new static population rather than see this ever-changing sea of faces.

I know, none of this is news. I've been taking a wait-and-see approach for months. Only now, after living with it, can I say that it's just not working. Having people from off-server in the old world didn't solve any of the low population server problems that my server has. I would prefer to stay on a low population server, but not one that's this low. Medium-low would be good. Letting us choose would be good. As-is, though, there are problems.

Big part of the reason I didn't go on a PVP server, even before CRZ existed or was thought of. I heard people raving about the revived PVP on realms with CRZs, and the massive battles that went on by the Blasted Lands portal to Outlands. Unfortunately, you have people who LOVE to gank people who have no chance to fight back and I can feel the pain of those lowbies because of CRZ. That said, I don't want to derail the thread into PVP nonsense.

I think it was last week sometime that I got my Tailoring high enough on my Warlock to make the Flying Carpet, so I hopped on my Shaman(Miner) to go prospect the four Golden Draenite required. (I wasn't paying 60-200gold each when I could get them for free.) In the past, it was rather easy to level my mining up out in Outlands so I figured it wouldn't be too much of an issue. It was late night, I'm on a low/med population server that is rather dead late night... but because of CRZ I couldn't find a single node up. It took me well over an hour just to get 4 Golden Draenite. Given it's heavily reliant on luck of the prospect, but it took me forever just to get a single stack of ore, let alone several stacks to prospect.

I was also trying to farm my Ornate set on my main Hunter. I read a guide that explains how easy it is to just fly around an hit all the rares in the level 50ish range in Blasted Lands, Winterspring, etc. Again it was later in the night that I went around what should have been a killing spree of rares.. only to find 3 of the 20+ rares alive. I did manage to get a piece of Ornate gear, but it was the headpiece which I didn't want.

I enjoyed being on a smaller server. It meant I could do what I wanted without being bothered by others. Now I have the inconvenience of a higher populated server while still being on a low one when it comes down to it. I don't even want to imagine Pandaria when and if it gets CRZ'd... it's bad enough on weekends during prime time to do dailies as is with the small amount of mobs available for some daily quests.

I haven't noticed if CRZ is affecting the AH at all in the pre-Pandaria markets. I imagine it is.

I hate the Galleon mechanic. I have seen Galleon three times since release. None of those times were I able to be in on the kill of it. The first time was late at night when I was leveling in Valley, second time I watched a raid group killing it, and the third I was on the phone when I saw the shouts for it so I couldn't really participate and didn't want to leech. It's just not very fair for a once a week reward kill to just spawn whenever the heck it feels like it and hope to heck you're online to get in the group that kills it, that's assuming it's your side who tags it first.

Dailies. Freaking Dailies. Dailies of Pandaria! I love that they uncapped dailies. I don't like how I feel forced to do them every single day to get gear, and if I miss a day I am behind. I raid, but my guild isn't the best. We don't have the progression of others in the raids to make the gear from reps outdated, so in my need to have better gear I feel forced to do them. I am so burnt out from doing dailies. I am down to just August Celestials at the moment and I'm so glad, but at the same time I don't want to do dailies again. I was going to work on my Shaman's Golden Lotus (for patterns) and Cloud Serpent (patterns again) but I can't even be bothered. I just don't want to. I keep telling myself I'm just waiting on the alt rep increase... maybe I'll believe it. Another reason I haven't bothered to get my Druid from 89-90.

I haven't seen a SINGLE Sky Shard for Alani.

Really, my only problems with MoP so far have been… Few and far between. I think I've been lucky in how little CRZ has affected me, as I still have no quarrels with it. Well, I'd like to be able to /who (zone) and still get a list of who's there, regardless of realm. But beyond that…

Mostly, Galleon and Skyshards. I hate Galleon. He drops some amazing stuff, and I haven't seen him up a single time. This is getting old. The drops I want already have a low drop chance, and there's no way I'll be able to kill him every week. They *really* need to lower his spawn time, it's just ridiculous as it is.

Skyshards suck. I understand wanting Alani to be really rare, but come on! After doing the dailies for weeks, I still have ONE. ONE!

Well, the fact that there's action is fine for the 90s, but it's crappy for the lowbies who stand no chance - which is the only reason I mentioned it here, since CRZ was supposed to be for their benefit.

I've done quite a bit of defending in the Blasted Lands myself (ganking those who gank others), but it's quite literally nonstop. There's far more action in BL/HP than in Pandaria on my server, which is my major objection.

If there is one thing that I want to punch in the face with this expansion, it would have to be the annoying CRZ. When it is impossible to taxi friends with low-levels to places because they keep getting dropped in the most painful of places (like, for instance, a level 17 does not fare well when dropped in Arathi Highlands and in the middle of a pack of raptors).

It's also extremely annoying having to put up with people I normally wouldn't. But that's just me being a bitch.

CRZ can go die in a fire. I like my low pop server and not having to fight people from other servers for already slow/limited spawns. Oh, and the bugs.

Love the pets. Pet battle spawn rates could use a bump though. No fun being in a zone with a bunch of other peeps and no pets.

I like some of the dailies, but GL dailies make me twitch. Thanks, I love crowded quest areas with low spawns and jerkfaces who grab quest items from under me. It's FUN. Not. I shouldn't spend most of my playtime waiting for a spawn because everyone and his mom needs Golden Lotus rep.

The only actual thing that bothers me about the expansion is the dailies -
I wouldn't want tabards back - no. That was just as bad for the game itself. Completely removed the RPG factor for me.

But yet the "grind" itself is amazingly dull and bad.
Luckily next patch they're speeding it up and I'll most likely be able to stomach Anglers by then.

I've slacked on my dailies major-time because I do believe if you don't like them you shouldn't do them but man...
At least I'm finishing Shado-Pan finally tomorrow.

The other biggest factor I cannot stand is the new LFR loot system.
I actually love it - It's perfect. Individual loot with a very decent chance of walking out and I'm walking out with hundreds of gold each week just clearing now.
However people are so stupidly entitled they want MORE?

I lost it on the official forums earlier on somebody who was demanding there should be extas in LFR despite the fact we are getting so much gold and we are getting "free" loot. Is that not enough incentive already?

I think the community is burning me out quickly - Seems even worse than Cata.
