Well P. Dawg must be the god of the barrens, as I was riding by Humar's tree to check on him and if I saw him, tame him. I was killing some lvl 15 alliance running around in the area, and I killed a prairie dog. Right after that, a lvl ?? alliance player shows up and kills me. P. Dawg has punished me!

I never saw Humar until I was already level 70. I finally got to tame him and named him KalaSimba meaning Black Lion in an amalgamation of African languages. Sadly he has been retired since he is no longer unique in his look. You can more easily now tame Pitch in Sholazar basin and have the same thing.

I don't really think anyone should retire their Humar just because a new lion has shown up. :) It doesn't matter what others think...if you tamed Humar then you know it's him, and no one else's opinion will change that. ^^

I already had a cat from lvl 14, a Moonstalker named Moonfire who I will never abandon. I only tamed Humar because he was unique and it was a mark of distinction among Hunters to have him. When he no longer was and there were other better choices, he had to go. If I could keep more pets, I'd still have him because abandoning him was a hard thing to do. If he still is wanted by you, go for it. I never said everybody should forget about him, just that it was my personal choice. It also really bothered me when the Moonstalker model showed up in Skettis and was no longer unique to Darkshore so all of a sudden tons of Horde Hunters were running around with pets that looked just like my beloved Moonfire. Since he had been my trusted companion since level 14, I could not abandon him and still can't even though the poor cats were nerfed so hard that they are no longer a good choice in raids. I don't need two cats though.

If you think cats have been nerfed useless, you're wrong. Me and another hunter in my guild decided to get naked and send our pets in to kill some of the ragdolls in IF. My kittie outdpsed his Wolf easily (12% more dps)

I'd put His Holiness in my signature but the queen mom (reads: Mania) has restricted us to one pic per sig.

Sorry but that's impossible (it might happen on one occasion due to randomness of crits, but average out at least 5 tests and the wolf will win handily). A wolf with the same talents as a cat will easily outdo the cat. I have tested this numerous times on target dummies and actual mobs. I didn't say that they were useless, but raptors, wolves, spirit beasts, devilsaurs and corehounds will all outdo a cat. It's sad but true. Cats used to be Kings but no more.

 P. Dawg isn't just the king of the Barrens! On my new tauren hunter (Lakewalker) for <Petopians> I had just turned level 10. I had my eyes on the famous Mazzrache. When I found him, (only a 5 min search) He apeared to be holding a praie dog as prisoner! First I tamed Mazzrache ( ), then marked the praie dog out of honor. On my way to Thunder Bluff, I found Ghosthowl (a rare spawn level 12 wolf)! It seemed as if the mighty P. Dawg approves!
