I'm not really sure why they'd up and change some of these...

Now I really hope they don't mess with the orange devilsaur. It's perfect as is!

Oooohhh some of these look nice. I was not a big fan of the crazy bright solors on some of them. I may be tempted to tame one now. Not sure what I think of the new devilsaur though.

I'm not sure if I'm happy about this. At first I liked the changes to the blue Direhorn.. but now that I look at in game I'm not liking it. I liked the lighter blue with the dull yellow stripes. It's not bad, I'll still keep it.. but just a little upset they went and changed something that was fine.

I'm not sure how I feel about the blue devilsaur change. I thought it was fine the way it was although the light blue stripes really didn't stand out as much. I think the darker skin makes the stripes stand out better but I think they went a little too dark. I do like it, but I liked the old one as well.

Either way I'll be keeping both of them and plan to tame them both come live.

Yeaah, I went to see the green direhorn skin in game and... Nope. I think it looks, well, unfinished? As if they accidentally loaded up the alpha version of the skin instead of the one they used in the previous build. Or maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me since I grew accustomed to seeing the other skin. Anyway, I'm probably gonna change to the red or pale/white skin as they changed the aspect of the green skin that made me like it. (The turquoise stripes and blueish grey underbelly.)

I actually might prefer the darker blue devilsaur. The eyes and teeth look a bit off though, a bit too dull colour compared to the rest of the devilsaur.

I'm growing fonder of the darker devilsaur myself, but you have a point about the eyes. The brown eyes look very strange against the stormy blue of the body, a weird color combo that I don't think worked out.

They do seem unfinished, I agree. The new colored stripes just seem painted on and not blended in like the others/old ones. The black stripes on the green look more like war paint, as well as the new brighter yellow on the darker blue Direhorn. Maybe they are war paint?

I was really turned off by the blue Devilsaur changes until I got in game. I do like it, but it's a like on the same level as the old one.

Oh yeah, totally not liking the no flying anymore. Sorry but having to trek around on foot/ground mount with gigantic dinosaurs that can two shot you is NOT fun. If you manage to get to the NPC they do sell a "disguise" that puts you in a Devilsaur costume, though. It's pretty awesome.

I'd hoped that it would, but the new blue devilsaur isn't growing on me in the slightest. The previous skin was an almost iridescent silvery-blue that I couldn't help but admire every single time I called it from my stable. This skin is dull and lifeless by comparison. It's not hideous, but it's nothing close to the beauty it was before. I like the new direhorns far more than the old ones, but I'd sooner see all the skins reverted to their original states, direhorns and devilsaur alike, and get to keep my Tethys as she was.

The more I look at the darker blue devilsaur the more it loos like they just took a blue filter and put it over it to darken it. The eyes and teeth both have this dull blue in them and it looks... just kind of disappointing. It was so glorious before I really don't know why they'd change it to that.

I like the new skin, the lighter one was a little too pastel for me, kind of reminded me of a color my little one would use lol, but I am sorry for all of you who are saddened by this new developement

Mind you, I like the darker skin too - I just would like Blizzard to find room for both.

perhaps the light blue one will be a rare.

Same. I like both skins a lot but I would like to see both kept in the game. I like the new markings on the dire horns as well, though it would be nice to have both versions of those skins as well. :3

I guess I'll be the oddball and say I liked the other green dire horn skin better. Still, even with the new stripes, green is still my favorite.

Made a quick comparison image from screenies I had before the change. I couldn't find the exact pose I had for the blue one originally, so I just went with something close.

Original versions on top, new on bottom.

I'd honestly like if they had kept all the versions, each of them look good. I personally find the new ones to be more appealing for the below examples, but the first ones were still good skins.

I'm comparing them in WMV now. I have to say when you flick between skins, the new ones look like they've lost a lot of the shading detail of the originals. Like someone accidentally upped the contrast. I'm not quite sure what to think.

Sounds like it could be a mistake then, if there's detail lost.

This isn't like 4.2 when suddenly the settings were fixed and we all went "ooooooh glowy spiders!"

Well, I can see why they made the changes, as there were too many that were pastel. I was really on the fence about the devilsaurs but I love that new dark blue.

Ideally they would solve this by having the younger or older beasts the lighter colors, and the other group the darker.


But I do like these changes overall.

I'm not pleased with the changes to either one of the blues, especially the Devilsaur. The original Devilsaur coloration was incredible but the new one is washed out and dull. I liked the brighter color of the Direhorn better too.
