So, the island finally settled down and I found a 'sweet spot' where several Dinomancers spawned and there weren't too many people.... Though I did have to deal with a few being rude and such.
After about an hour and a half of farming, I had my Dinomancy Tome and all four of the pets, plus some extras!
Now, I just had to pick a Direhorn! My original desire was the green ones...but I wasn't fond of the odd red eyes.
I tried a blue, but that just didn't click, even though blue is my favorite color. With blue and gold, it just felt sort of 'Alliance' to me and didn't fit Sethalaen's character at all.
I rather liked the brown...until I noticed the weird green toenails and the pinkish feet. Then I couldn't unsee!
The pale was all right, but just didn't seem quite right either.
I honestly didn't even consider the red. I don't like red at all. It's pretty far down the list of my favorite colors! Still, like three guild-mates were saying red was the best. I waffled. I stuck with pale for a few hours, went around, and finally let her go. It just didn't click.
I went back to the Isle, riding around carefully, looking at all the Direhorns and being frustrated that it wasn't easier since my Devilsaur was immediate. The dark hide with the 'fire' colored stripes was perfect, since my guild <In Fire and Shadow> has a guild tabard that is black with an orange symbol.
Well, while I roaming, I noticed that a bunch of people were farming the reds. I think they were all in a group, because they were rounding them up and killing them. It made me kind of sad in a strange way, all those Direhorn corpses littering the grass.
There was only two left not aggroed when I showed up. One of the Hatchlings was grazing by the water, looking peaceful. The other was an adult. I was sitting there, still not sure when one of the mages pulled the adult. Realizing that the baby, the last of his little 'herd' was about to be pulled and killed, I hopped off my mount and tamed him. For some reason I just couldn't stand the poor little fellow being part of the massacre.
So...here he is with Seth at the farm.
His name is Lok'tar, which is Orcish for "Victory!".
