I have seen this coming a mile away. I mean, it was the only part of the zone that had no purpose and was just a small, mostly featureless plain. The moment 5.1 was released with new outdoor areas on the old zones I thought "that place in the Vale? This must be for another patch".

I also like the lone crane standing there overlooking it.
I imagine that crane standing there all Iron Eyes Cody-like, with a single tear running down his beak.

That's where they spawned prior to the change, so I'm just confirming that they haven't moved. It's good to know, since Portent completely phases out in that section now, rather than dropping to the ground.

So, for anyone curious what the Shado-Pan think about Garrosh's little mining operation:

*STORY SPOILERS* (taken from MMO-Champion)

Image
Taran Zhu: Tauren! What have your people done! You have dredged open a scar within our sacred Vale!
Sunwalker Dezco: Lord Zhu, please understand - the orc "Warchief" who ordered the deed no longer speaks for the whole of the Horde. Many voices are rising up against him.
Taran Zhu: Your politics are no concern of mine. Your Horde has disrespected the sanctity of this place. You are no longer welcome here - leave at once!
Sunwalker Dezco: Give us time, Lord Zhu. Give us the opportunity to bring Hellscream to justice.
Taran Zhu: Sunwalker, I respect your people. You have aided us in our campaign against the Sha and the Thunder King. Otherwise, I would've already ordered the Shado-Pan to purge this entire shrine. But my patience is at an end. The Horde must leave.
Taran Zhu stares grimly into the distance.
Taran Zhu: Very Well, You have until season's end. No longer.
Taran Zhu: We pandaren are no strangers to dealing with tyrants..The coming battle will try your souls. May the celestials guide your actions.

Yay, very glad to see the Sunwalkers standing up to Garrosh. They're one of my favorite groups in the Horde, and I was worried about where Blizzard would go with them, as they were stated to be very militant and loyal. This makes me happy!

Orcs now are more like humans nowadays.

Forest and lovely nature? BAH, more land, more land!

I'm a bit concerned it's on the Alliance side of the Vale.

Are there hostile NPCs there?

It'd be pretty screwy to make a level 87 who did the Kun-Lai quest to open the Vale take a long way around to get to our shrine.

I'm going to guess that it's most likely going to be phased. Hopefully...

I haven't seen any hostile NPCs there yet.

Phased or not, it's on the far side of the Vale from the gate and the Golden Lotus questgivers, so lowbies just entering the Vale can completely avoid the area should it be necessary to. :)

All the pictures I've seen show the new area going right through the road that leads to the Alliance Shrine. O_o

There's still space to pass by near the water or, if you're extra-paranoid, you can cross through in front of the instance. There are doors on both sides of the palace and it's completely possible to cut through there in complete safety.

I'm not one for getting into character hating (not to mention I don't want to get dragged into the fights on tumblr orz) but...

Hey now that's uncalled for especially since it isn't the HUMANS going nuts nor is it the human leader. I find that statement to be insulting to humans with you comparing us to Garrosh. ;)
