Depends on if you enjoy them.
I have a second alliance hunter being leveled because I needed an inscription alt and to heck with buying another set of heirlooms.

I once made the mistake of piping up in guild chat about having 3 hunters to collect pets, and got called a dumbass. Since then, the guild often goes through periods of having mostly hunters on. Mean guy's long gone.
Now I have 4... these days it's more about rolling a toon to play through a new race's area.

i get hated for haveing the amount of hunters i have.i even get asked to try another class or if i ever played another class other then hunter.i said i have played other classes before just hunters clicked for me.i play other classes in other games so i do tecnily play other classes other then hunter.like in GW2 i play necromancer,warroir,elementlist.i have alot of fun with the thunder hammer.but when in wow i feel my best play style is through the hunters.i also say that there is no rule in wow that says that i can't or says i have to many hunters play another class.its my money i do what i want.

I have 3 hunters, same server, 2 horde and 1 alliance.
I did it for different stable themes, such as having one hunter who focused on spirit beasts. hunters are also an excellent class to solo with so its 3 chances each week on onyxian drake and ashes of alar (along with my few others that solo for those).

Just another update on my growing hunter collection: Made a worgen hunter (named her Jessiebelle after a forum user
- hope you don't mind!) and I really enjoyed her. I think shes a keeper! I was just making them to help lvl the guild but after seeing all the comments here I don't feel so weird for having so many hunter alts
