ah, I see.
there was no link to the source, and no actual mention of it being a passive in the OP.
thanks for clearing that up for me.
I don't understand how it's supposed to work, however.
it must have some sort of timer?
how often does you pet use this passive ability?
teleporting isn't exactly a "passive" type of thing.
does this mean your pet will teleport behind an enemy randomly? or do you have some control over it? if you have control over it, how is it then a passive ability?
I'm just confused.
normally, a passive ability is something that is "always on". so does this mean your pet will always do 50% more damage than someone who hasn't taken this talent? sounds a bit over-powered (though I wouldn't complain!)

as I understand it it's a 50% buff to just their basic attack(no boost to auto attacks) and using a basic attack will instantly (and with no cooldown) place your pet on the target's backside. as mentioned above, blink strike had a 600% attack on it. the math should work out similarly but it might change how stats are valued a bit.
I can see it being an issue on certain fights where blink strike already had issues, but i'm wondering if the effect will carry over to stampede. if it affects all the pets it would A) increase uptime as your pets no longer have to run to the target and B) significantly incease the amount of damage.
also, yay for more powershots! glaive and barrage always have a habit of pulling aggro or adds when I don't want them to

Like I said, last night on the PTR, it wasn't physically functioning as a passive; I still had to trigger it. So maybe this was repealed at the last moment?

I have a feeling that's what they did with Trample.

Neither do I, but if they're going to balance it so that Blink Strike doesn't become the FOTM OP talent, they'll change it accordingly.
So we hope.

"Build 16837 will be deployed to the PTR realms soon." It's not updated yet.

I'm hoping it turns out to be competitive, as it could be highly useful on Megaera (which has some...definite pet pathing issues). A pet that consistently teleports itself behind the head instead of running off into god-knows-where and despawning would be a nice band-aid on the situation, at least.

Z already did some math on this, and the new Blink is highly gear dependent, might not be much of an increase now, but will improve with gear. It also requires us to be more aware of pet focus, if you pet is focus starved, you will loose dps.
What I really like about it is freeing up those GCDs.
More haste might be required to maintain pet focus as well.

I'm already 502, so 'gear-dependent' doesn't worry me too much. And yes, I think this is in response to those wanting button bloat reduced sooner rather than later--you can choose it rather than having another button to push with Lynx Rush or Murder of Crows. Also, it's cool enough to compete with Lynx Rush.
Another question: does it still teleport pet behind the mob if pet has aggro? I know currently a pet will attempt to move behind a mob unless it's at the top of the aggro table, unless there's a cone AoE (like a Stonecore flayer's slashy-thing) that it will automatically attempt to move out of.

Ugh....I was on the PTR for a couple of minutes earlier and Hippomenes was blinking around to every targeting dummy I'd aggroed him to - which meant he was spending a good deal of time running back to the one he was supposed to be attacking.
There is definitely some sort of short internal cooldown, about 10s, I think.

Some updates:
1)Binding Shot is now Marksman ability.
2)Intimidation is removed from Beast Master tree and replaces Binding Shot as level 30 talent.
Not sure what to think.

That's....interesting. I suppose the utility of exotic pets is meant to counter the lack of utility on the hunter.
Makes me sad, though; binding shot was terribly helpful when taming Degu.

That's... interesting.
I actually don't mind it though. Now ALL hunters can solo pandaren rares. Before, it was near impossible to without being BM, as intimidation was needed.
Though, as Kall said, it does make Degu slightly harder to tame solo now.

If anything, binding shot should be survival... but why remove intimidation from the BM tree? D:

So to make
less people to take up Silencing Shot... they replaced one of the useful alternatives with a straight-up inferior ones?
I mean, sure, Binding Shot was very situational so most of the time you wouldn't need it... but on a rare occasion it was actually useful. Meanwhile, Intimidation is just inferior to Silencing Shot. I mean, raid bosses are stun-immune and if you need to interrupt a cast on a stunnable mob, Intimidation is again inferior because just after the stun expires, the mob will start casting again - and guess what, you no longer have an interrupt to stop it now!

Yeah, the more I think about this, the less I like it (and I wasn't really a fan to begin with), since once again, BM is losing a lockdown ability. Instead of only having access to intimidation now, BM will only have access to silencing shot, as opposed to both.
