Yup it's handy. I think you can make it ignore certain mounts/pets too.

I use GupPet personally, it works pretty well for simple mount randomizing and you can pick between which ones it'll shuffle between.

I got them all, but the one I wanted most--the one I truly fell in love with, was the Tan Riding Talbuk. I used it as my default ground mount for years.
Me too actually! For a really long time my warriors fav mount was her Dark War Talbuk

I was so proud getting it and at the time it was quite a feat to get all those dust tokens (plus 100 battle ones!!). I still think the talbuk's move the best out of all the ground mounts....there long gallop always enthralled me! You've inspired me to pull one onto my bars again

After writing that post, I found myself digging out my Talbuk and riding him last night, too. *LoL*
I'm thinking I need to find this add on, as well.

I personally use Squire2 to randomize my mounts. I don't know how it matches up to other mount addons, though

Sometimes I do find myself picking out certain mounts for my toons, even some I don't play much any more.
I forum-RP my hunter, Varethyn, and his go-to mounts there are Tala the emberworg (in-game she's a Timber Worg) and the Vial of the Sands.
Likewise I RP my pally, Kithren, and his go-to RP mount is Divine Intervention (Divinity for short) his Argent Charger. For fliers he likes red and black ones, often seen on a Volcanic Stone Drake or as an Obsidian Nightwing.
My monk, Ireneus, is technically Var RP-wise but in-game I often find myself plonking him on a crane, the Disc of the Red Flying Cloud or the Windsteed. It just works.
I don't RP my warlock, Veronis, but I prefer him to mostly ride around on his felsteeds (water-walking plus fire trail glyph woo) and the Phosphorescent Stone Drake.
Everyone else just gets whatever the random mount button gives them.

For my paladins and sunwalkers the Argent Warhorse and then when they learn the flying skill Tyrael's Charger.
For my other Alliance characters the Headless Horseman's mount since it combines ground and flying.
And for my other Horde toons the Sunstone Panther since like Headless it combines ground and flying.

I now use Livestock.
one thing, as a hunter, that I really love about it is, you set one button to "smart mount"... it will select a ground mount if you are in a no-fly zone, a water mount if underwater, and if you are in a no-mount zone it will choose Aspect of the Cheetah (when you are solo) or Aspect of the Pack (when you are grouped... this is selectable also, you can de-activate it), AND when you hit your "smart mount" button from being in Aspect, it will automatically switch you to Aspect of the hawk if you want.
It allows you to select a variety of mounts or mini-pets, for use when outside of a city, in a city, in a BG, in a dungeon, etc...
You can assign any single mount to any specific location (for example, always your your thanksgiving dinner in Silvermoon, you big angry doggy in Orgrimmar, etc...).
Anyway enough advertising for a fantastic add-on I couldn't live without.

I like to have RP stories for my characters (even tho I havent RPed in about 4 years) so my mounts correspond to their stories.
My shado-pan hunter rides one of the rep tigers for ground mount and Onyx Cloud Serpent to fly. I would love to get her a pandaren phoenix tho.
My sindorei bloodmage rides whatever mount looks closest to her mana serpent. Right now it's the blue Cloud Serpent which is the closest I can get without throwing her at Elegon a million times

In the past I've used Heart of the Aspects and netherdrakes. She doesn't really have an RP ground mount so I use whatever looks cool.
My pally bloodknight uses his class mount on the ground and a Sunreaver Dragonhawk in the air. Right now I am working on getting him an Argent Charger.
My belf warrior uses a Swift Pink Hawkstrider which was a 'gift' from his father (to get his son to LEAVE and NEVER COME BACK). No RP flyer, so I just use silly mounts.
The rest of my guys use rare mounts that I want to show off or mounts I like the look of. I also have a macro which has my newest mounts in a rotation (plus Onyxian Drake, my absolute favourite mount. Every macro I make has to include Onyxia!)

On most of my toons, I use Mounted (another 'random mount generator' type deal), but some of my characters connect with certain mounts over others.
Shuki (Troll hunter), for example, tends to favor the Green Proto, or the Red Drake for flying, and raptors in general for ground. When I eventually get the Green Primal Raptor, I think that would become her favorite ground mount.
Ren (Troll warlock) always uses her Headless Horseman for flying (matches her fiiire <3 ), and Dreadsteed for ground
Mazzle (Goblin priest) likes to use Noggenfogger - things like Mammoths and the Direhorn mounts are always amusing when tinyfied
Naldri (Dwarf hunter) loves her Golden Gryphon for flying, and rams in general for ground.

I always try to match the mount to both the character's spirit and the mog they're currently using
My main, dwarven huntress:

to my current pve-mog set, the crude gray-ish brown last pvp set of cata, that fits the barrens battlefield theme

when in pvp-mog Windrunner set, nothing says Ally and proud of it like good old blue-and-gold

to my fav Wyrmstalker pve-mog set (as seen in my sig)
Yes, I love gryphons
My draenei DeadKid:

all her mogs alway end up dark blue/purple anyway
My draenei paladin:

to Justicar set

to the honor set of MoP's 1st season (currnetly using)
My nelf starcaller druid:

as a ground mount and a flying mount for long distances, when she's feeling to lazy to fly on her own wings

most of the time it's swift flightform, though.

ive been meaning to make this thread myself so happy to see it.
First off Tårnfalk, which atm is the only one of mine with mounts which have no names. Tårnfalk have always been flying on a blue drake and riding on the deathcharger which she got with the argent invasion
Abricot only first got her permanent mount, Poughkeepsie. Since she is both flying and riding she is Abricots only mount
Xinias mount are Bella and Abigon
Milui´s mounts are Soulfire and Dusk
havent desided on Mikaidos mounts yet.. finding it hard to click with anything with the panda

Holgarr is an engineer and damn proud of it, so his means of travel are obvious - Mekgineer's Chopper and Turbo-Charged Flying Machine.

Up until I got my Pureblood Firehawk and Flametalon, I was using my Raven Lord and either TLPD/PSD or one of the DS mounts. And then I got my beautiful flaming birds. Winning the roll on our second kill of H Rag in Cata was awesome and funny at the same time since I was one of the two main tanks for the guild and the other tank won the first roll. So using them also reminds me of how much fun I had during Cata raiding.
Though my lock still uses my Twilight Harbinger because it suits her. And my pally uses the Raven Lord because it suits her transmog.

I have a group of mounts I often use.
But the mounts I use the most on mine main hunter are:

The story of the Swift Zulian Tiger goes back to vanilla,my main was a shammy back then. The first time i saw this mount was in Thunder Bluff in 2006.
I was immediately sold but my friends said that I never get this mount because its was so rare back then. But I told to myself "one day I shall have this mount".
Until tbc i never saw that mount again but I didnt forgot him.Halfway tbc i played less and less on my shammy and started to level my hunter (was only around lv 20-30 when tbc cames out). From then on my main was this hunter. More on the end of TBc I had the opportunity a few times to do zg mount runs with a small group without results. At the start I did the zg runs with two other people.
From 2009 I did this alone. That same year, afther months of trying the tiger finnaly drops

He is still my number one mount and I think it will always be so

The Headless Horseman's Mount I use alot when I'm looking for things.

I'm a nerd so I "theme mount" all my toons so they have mounts appropriate to their personalities and personal stories (NEEEEEEEERD).
My hunter has the Time-Lost Proto Drake and the Golden Primal Direhorn/Reins of the Raven Lord. My shaman rides a Brewfest Kodo and a Jade Pandaren Kite. My druid is a filthy animal and just runs on all fours.

I do this as well XD
My hunter is like a sniper so wears greens and browns in order to blend in. She flies on the Green Cloud Serpent (LOVE THEM! <3)
