The truth of it is that the removal of Silencing Shot is actually just to do with PVP, Blizzard does add any weight about whether it effects your ability to solo Pandarian rares or not, it's not even a blip on their radar.
So over this game being balanced around pvp. Its driving me quite nuts tbh. This isn't league of legends ffs, theres more to this game....alot more. I'm sure I'll offend many pvper's with my pov but it's just beyond stupid now. I swear it's never been this bad....

Tbh, for me, it's just exhausting having a class I've played since TBC be stomped on over and over again in such a short period of time. And even if we've only had Silencing Shot for about a year, it's still been... I don't want to say necessary, because in the end nothing is, but it's proved to be an important part of what most hunters use, especially when soloing. We've been getting a lot of nerfs, and we've been forgotten in a lot of other aspects of the game. The buffs our pets bring aren't really useful, we do crap DPS, and it's very frustrating to almost always be the bottom of the DPS charts. Add that to the fact that there was a solo scenario on Isle of Thunder (and I am sure there are other examples elsewhere, this is just the first that springs to mind) that was much harder for hunters than it was for other classes? And was nearly impossible for BM hunters unless you were in raid gear? I feel very, very forgotten when an easy scenario is impossible for my preferred spec.
It's not even really fun anymore. For me, there have been so many nerfs and I've just had my face shoved in the ground so many times that I don't even want to play my hunter. I farming ore on her and leveling jewelcrafting so I can make mounts, and that's it. I'm not even bothering with rep grinds. I'm just leveling my shadow priest and trying to forget I even have a hunter.
It's just frustrating and exhausting. And all over twitter, tumblr, and the main forums, other classes are clamoring for even more hunter nerfs. There has been a bit of "just take them out of the game, they're useless", as well, and I'm starting to believe it's not all joking.
I know we've been the most disliked class for a long time (or at least in my experience we have), but I've never felt so... hated. We're already awful at DPS, why are we getting nerfs? Shouldn't we, of all classes, be seeing buffs?
I'm just tired and so worn down from how long this has been going on. From how many nerfs. From the attitude of other classes. Likely, I'm being overdramatic. But there's only so much of this I can take before I start feeling very despondent. It just makes me so sad.

Removing Silencing Shot will also increase the difficulty to kill the Dinomancers since you will have to be MM or have a pet that interrupts. There is also the SB Hutai who has a healing spell, so how you suppose to tame her now?

Heh, I wonder if Hutia's taming mechanic being completely broken is enough reason to halt the entire change.

Okay, I'm not sure if this has been stated before but...how is this making hunters cc any "better"? yes..you're removing silencing shot and giving it to marksman, but intimidation STILL a talent. so really this is doing no good because i guarantee that with this change people will go marksman for what they went with bm (pvp wise): silencing shot and intimidation combined. If you ask me, having silencing shot as a talent is a great thing, i use it personally to help my raid with both horridon and dark animus trash. and for the pvp aspect, they cant have 2 of one talent tree.
edit: just thought i'd add, itd be worse this way (^) because marksman has aimed shot as well. i really hope they realize that if theyre trying to make balance, they're definitely not doing it this way

yay, i'll get my binding shot back! ...of course i often needed silencing shot, but binding shot was my favourite toy by far. in fact i think that i'd have more uses for BS (council, tortos, megarea, twins, lei shen) than SilS (horridon, but BS is great there too, depends on available setup) in this tier (all hero), too bad i won't get to use it. still i suspect that they will finally make silence baseline. anything else would be just really stupid. we'll see.
i really like the arcane shot change too. it won't make much of an overall dmg difference because focus cost got modified too, yet a stronger spammable instant is very desirable and will be better in focus cap situations. it certainely will make us feel less spammy.

Im not sure what the point of the Arcane change is.. all it is going to do in reality is force some rotation changes so we are focus-neutral. They might be trying to add more burst, but in reality it will be a wash as it stands now, and might even be a bit of a dps loss if you need to stuff in another Cobra/Steady to your rotation.
Ironically, the Arcane change may make a MM Arcane spam rotation even more desirable.
It's quite odd.

So arcane shot is going to cost MORE focus?
Will they shorten Cobra's cast time a tiny bit to make up for needing to use it more often?

It does more damage.
It's a burst damage nerf to hunters. Kind of makes Thrill of the Hunt completely useless in non-aoe situations now though.
Free ARcane Shots was the entire reason I use it.

it does more damage.. less often.
since it uses up more focus you have to insert more-frequent Cobra shots to regain focus, which in the final analysis equates to less damage. Cobra shot is a VERY slow shot.
I can really say that I'm not impressed with any of these changes to hunters.

Is it becoming more beneficial to stack more haste then to speed up Cobra shot, or is crit still better? Focus starvation is such a pain, I am almost wishing that mana were brought back...at least when we had mana I was able to do more then 3 abilities before needing to spam a regan spell...
Haste would speed up that regan, and C.S. but the attacks would crit less often, but would it work out better since I would be getting more shots in and more chances at a crit?
