I hate the northrend models, so when I decided to get myself a wolf, I looked around petopia and found the perfect one. I always liked the old-world models best, you don't see many of them around at high levels, AND one that barked when clicked? SOLD! I debated going to get Spot rather then a Coyote, but I decided to leave the dog alone. He was already someone else's pet. ;)

....I still would have rather kept my Worgen. Damm you Blizzard! *shakes fist* Best. Wolf. EVAR.

OK here's a fun thing to do...Take your Prairie Wolf from Mulgore and go do the quest for Don Rodrigo's hat in Old Hillsbrad. Soloable at lvl 80. Now you have a summon-able ghost coyote. Do the quest for the worg pup pet at Flamecrest. Get a friend who is an Inscriptionist to make you a copy of "Rituals of the New Moon". Ready? Don your hat, summon the ghost coyote, call out your Prairie Wolf and your worg pup, transform yourself into a Worg with "Rituals", then run through the city with your wolf pack! Four wolves running together, Shamans eat your heart out!!!

Heh, unfortunately the Spirit Coyote counts as a minipet, so you can't have it and a Worg Pup out at the same time. It's one or the other.

I got some pics in the stories/art section with me doing most of this, but only 3 wolves, since I couldn't get a pup out.

if you are looking for a wolf with a vanilla look and feel you could always go for one of the wolves in the human starting area. They are now deseased looking similar to the bears in the plaguelands. I have yet to see a hunter with this model of wolf, and have actually been thinking about taming one myself since I got a good look at the model for them.

I'd rather have a undead hunter with a "bonespider", the skeletal spiders in icecrown.

I personally like the wolves from Ashenvale and I suggest those. I have seen an orc hunter with a mount that looks the same as his pet using and emote like Orcplayer (I dont remember the name) jumps on to his pet Wolf and rides off.
