I finally went up and tamed one yesterday. It took a little bit of watching 'em before I found a good spot to make the tame. I missed one that flew over because a nearby Hozen got close enough to aggro while I was waiting, then missed a second because after offing the Hozen, I hadn't yet dismissed my current pet. Third try I got 'im. He's now named Electrolux.

As of 5.4 this bat has been fixed.
It no longer half sinks into the ground and is now just another bat. This bat would sink into the ground when moving which is what made this bat "unique" as no other bat did that.

Does it still have the different ears? o3o

When I log in I'll double check but on WoWhead it would appear it no longer has the floppy ears.

Just checked poor Downunder, he is indeed flying properly and has straight ears again. He was glorious while he lasted.
