Okay first of all that picture is too funny, thank you for a decent laugh. second what does this have to do with police corruption, third and probably the dumbest....umm what is poutine?

well, the original thread topic isn't really about police corruption. it's about the American government wanting to give American police officers the right to search and detain people while on the Canadian side of the border (in other words, the US is looking for a special permission that grants policing powers to American law enforcement while on foreign soil).

Then someone said the cops were coming to Canada to steal all of our poutine.

And poutine is... nectar of the gods... hardener of the arteries... depositor of unsightly fat in all the wrong places.

its a dish of fries, with a special gravy, and squeaky curd cheese which originated in the province of Quebec. it has pretty much become our "national food" here... despite our having FAR better candidates for "national dish" (the real Tourtière du Lac St-Jean in particular. our family recipe has been in our family for nearly 400 years.. but enough food talk!)

I presume it's intended for making it easier to deal with cross-border issues, like when someone commits a felony on one side then jumps the border. But that's just me making an assumption. And even if it's true there are some ethical issues with it.
