People do what they feel like because they feel like it, simple as that. If she really wants to go to Bliz Con and she thinks this is the only way to do it that's her choice, just like it's the peoples' choice who sent her money to do so. While I know that I would never consider doing the same, as much as I may not appreciate it I'm not going to condemn her for it. I don't think that this one incident is going to cause anyone I meet in game that discovers I am a female gamer to think that I'm a harlot, bad player, gold digger, fed character, -insert female gamer stereotype here- any more than they already are.
It's a persons choice on how they act, just like it's a persons choice on what they chose to think. All I can do is act the way I believe I should act and not let what others think bother me or cause me to hold it against them. My little sister does this all the time IRL to get stuff that she doesn't feel like paying for, I dislike it but at the end of the day what she does and what others chose to do for her is all up to them, if it really causes a problem she'll tell me (happened more than once that I've had to go big sister mode all over some uppity little boy... -_- ) and I'll do my best to fix it.
