The only crime I'm seeing here is that my male Blood Elves aren't getting their fair share of teh sexay.

I see it as sexism if only the females are sexualized. If the males all wear heavy armour and the females only skimpy gear then it's not only a sexist treatment, but it's pretty juvenile. The type of fantasy art that the sexualized female look took inspiration from also depicted a lot of shirtless, heavily-ripped males in loin cloths. But of course we don't see much of that make it into the game. So I expect either over-the-top semi-naked male costumes, or realism for all!

The "not running for President" line seems to be a round-about way of saying "politically correct". As if he and his team are dismissing concerns of sexism as political correctness. This irked me more than anything. I'm glad he was made to apologize. As they mentioned at Blizzcon this year, a lot of Warcraft's early story can be explained by the fact it was created by a bunch of young men, in the 90s. But they've come a long way since then and usually seem to be a pretty fair company.

None of my male toons have giant bulges in their pants. That's not fair for me they all should have those ;)

Totally a mountain out of a mole-hill. They're a video game company - they can do what they like as far as i'm concerned. You don't like sexy females? Don't buy their product. Maybe because I'm older and grew up with boys oogling triangle boobed Lara Croft this is all very silly to me. People need to drink a shot of concrete sometimes and toughen the F up. Imo its women who make a fuss about these tiny things that put us back in the equality race.

It's not like you get less gold for playing a female toon or reach level cap a year after a male toon :P

Not defending or crucifying Blizzard, but I'll make these points:
- Someone actually got upset over that roller derby outfit?! Have they ever seen roller derby?!
- My female BE paladin is carrying her plate armor through faith alone - she certainly doesn't have the physique of a tank!
- The female orc body has to be *the* best/most believable female model in any RPG/MMO I've played.
- I'd still like to be able to kick ass in heels as well as my demon hunter in D3. She's awesome. :)

Dwarf female. Bar none. They are a great example of what could be considered the archetypical 'plain girl next door'. Maybe that's just me, though. I think they're 'lumpy in all the right places', as it was so eloquently put in-game. ;)

On the other hand, I'd *kill* to have myself some good male character eye candy. Not in the sexualized 'you have to dress this way', but give us some *options*. There's items made purely for transmog now ('cosmetic') so couldn't there be some for giving your male character a little beefcake? Maybe some loincloths or chest harnesses in something other than leather? (which has some nice ones, don't get me wrong)

Sexism, for me, comes under separating the sexes and treating one of them more sexually than the other. By equalizing the over-sexualization of some things, they are no longer being sexist. Although they may still have to deal with 'hypersexualization' complaints. ;)

This here. I'm assuming the asker was referring to female NPCs wearing skimpy armor. Of course, the main race that does this? Elves. And the dragon aspects that are shapeshifted into elven form. Often people forget the females of other races. Jaina? Barely qualifies as skimpy. Sylvanas? She was an elf in life. Why do people not remember Magatha? Shademaster Kiryn. Stormwind Guard Justine Demalier decked out in full armor. Sho of the Shado-Pan

It could also be a part of their culture. Both Tauren males and females can semi often be found in somewhat skimpy armor. It's a part of their culture

Is it a body issue? Again, they'd be only thinking of elves, and possibly humans. The races have the body type appropriate for them and their way of life

Dance issue? Yea, that Tauren Shuffle and river dance is SOOOO hot

Skimpy Tier gear? Transmog. Some folks love the platekinis, some don't. That's why there's transmog. You can choose a set you like more if you don't like the look of your gear
