Ditto. I was going to get the CE anyway because I've done that since WOLTK but yeah this makes it that bit sweeter. What would be evern better if we got a mini pet of it too like the MoP CE XD

Stormcrow mount myself. Says its a mount but maybe because druids had that flight quest chain in BC and were going to draenor, and now we got the new Anzu-y mount and the storm crow looks Anzu-y, maybe its a hint toward a druid quest like the warlock thing. /shrug
The Stormcrow is taught by an account-wide item. That doesn't mean they won't change their minds, but it was clearly intended to be a mount when created. My guess is something to do with Heroes of the Storm.

They also said that if you pre-order the digital deluxe edition, you get to use the mount right away and don't have to wait for WoD to launch. I'm hoping this is the CE/DD mount and I think that's more likely than it being another store mount.

I like how everyone's assuming it's either a store or CE mount. Because it can't be anything else? o.o I understand why people think that, it's too unique looking to be something found in-game, but who knows? I think it'd be cool if it dropped off some updated version of Anzu or something. It would explain why they ripped off his head and stuck it on a bird anyhow. >___>

Because Blizzard does not advertise or tease in-game obtainable mount models on their Facebook and other social media. Only promotional mounts. Like the Emerald Hippogryph and RaF. They tend not to tease store mounts on it either.
Plus, flying Anzu fits the Arakkoa theme perfectly. Now you may argue that that is not 'Iron Horde'ish, but then neither was the Quilen. The Mists of Pandaria Collectors Edition did not give us a Pandaren mount either.
And I stick with this:
Warlords of Draenor Collectors Edition: Flying Raven Lord
Heroes of the Storm promotional: Stormcrow
Hearthstone promotional: Hearthsteed (confirmed, just need ETA and details on promotion itself)

Well that explains it a little better, makes more sense now anyway. I know nothing about the new expansion or what it's about.

Indeed. And had it not been for the word "teaches" in the tooltip, I would have put money that this becomes the druid's green fire quest once WoD was announced. Never connected it to Heroes of the Storm until you said that though, its a good observation.
But this isnt about Stormcrow, its about shiny flying anzu *grabby hands*

Seeing as the new expack is in old OL I think it fits perfectly. I agree with Wain it looks like it could be what Anzu looked like before OL went to shit.

Protodrake skele would make me quite happy.. not a fan of riding on most of the other bird mounts...

OH! That makes MUCH more sense than the normal dragon animations. I knew that normal dragons did a feet cross... But I forgot proto's did as well.
Thank you for posting that!

It's Anzu, the Arakkoan god. It flies. It's gorgeous.
/nerdgasm
I was getting Digital-CE anyway, and this "little" baby only makes it sweeter - I love Arakkoas and they are one of the things I already love the most in WoD.
And if it's on the protodrake frame - all the better, it's my fav flying mount frame in the game. I hope it has proper ground animations as well, no flappy-flapping
Just imagined it doing the hoppy proto running animation. Cuteness overload

If it indeed uses the protodrake animations, there are a few I am concerned about. Mainly the standing idle animation. I think it fits well with protodrakes but I hope they customize it for Anzu like they did the Pterrorwings. I always like the special stand animation, I think it could fit too. Looks... regal.

Agreed Quivering. The firehawks were good examples, I hated how their wings rested on the ground like the proto's and its run with the wings out always seemed weird. I hope "Flying Anzu" is a bird and folds those wings away

the flying glide shot reminds me more of the crow/hawk glide (like druid flight form) than protodrake glide based on how the feet dangle. I know the crow/hawk have proper sitting bird animations. Maybe this thing is on the proto skeleton but a mishmash of animations, including crow/hawk? I dont have WMV so I couldn't find a crow/hawk doing the air grab animation. I wanna see this thing animated, damnit! lol

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I really like the eagle animations so I'd be fine with that. Or maybe it's an amalgamation between those and the proto-drakes somehow.
Sorry about horrible edit, I'm at work and only have MS Paint.

Darn you, Blizz! The Anzu mount is my favorite in the game, and now they're releasing a flying version? Ugh, I don't wanna buy the xpac unless I know I'm actually going to play it, but I reeeeeally want that! *flail*

It looks like it uses the normal bird flying animations (maybe updated to be smoother, or with some extra flight cycles, like the Chimaera spin) and I think it might use either the Pterodactyl/Pterrorwing/Skyscreamer animations for walking, or use the modified Pterodactyl animations, which in turn are modified Proto-Drake animations.
