I was playing last night and into the morning, got to 92. But when I tried to log in right now I see "Frostwolf is full".

WHAT!?!

My server is always medium pop - this is crazy.

I'm getting the full message as well, and I've never seen my server as anything but mid to low population. What the heck is this all about?

As far as I can tell, people are REALLY excited for this expac. It seems to have brought a lot of people back.

Arygos/Llane is doing pretty good right now. the 15 min early launch was cool, there was some lag but nothing too bad for the first 30 min. then the server crashed twice taking up about an hour of time. after that i hit a few lag spikes here and there but aside from that it was decent gameplay. got two levels in, got some sleep and then joined the masses again. Right now Arygos has not crashed again and there is no wait time but we do keep hitting long response delays that make it hard to turn in quests.

honestly its gone better than I expected. Arygos is a low pop server though so we are not suffering as much as those on high pop realms. =/ I do get this really annoying lag spike where I just spin in a circle but I am having so much fun i dont mind. Nearly 94 so its not that bad.

Blizzard has also temporory lowered the amount of players allowed in each realm until they've addressed the latency problem that was going on. I managed to stay on WRA in which there isn't much lag, but at the same time a lot of my friends are still sitting in queues.

Best launch ever? You have got to be shitting me. Having the quest that opens the entire area in one spot was a nightmare. Not even touching the lag issue but we got teleported back to the shrine 4 times because the server couldn't handle it. Not to mention the asshatery of people on mounts etc. All that after having to wait in a queue for about an hour...yay. Not saying I wasn't expecting it to be busy but yeah defiantly not the best.

ive been up since 7am today, the que was atleast 5790 - now its 299 and its 12:19 - lunch time.. 5hours just to log on and play... and im paying to wait.. gg blizz for doing a *vanilla* again -_-

BTW: if you spam click the server and not click OK - you will get into the que without disconnecting. my bf spammed the heck out of it and got into the que last night and was able to play till 4am today. i did the same at 7am and i got into the que.

My first queue to get in. Started at 867. I got right in at about 4PM and the Garrisons were back up already. Only down for maybe an hour but everything else was fine. I would still have to say that , for me, it's been the best one ever.

I may have to take some of that back. I'm currently stuck in my Garrison because the world servers are down. It has been confirmed that WoW was hit with a DDOS attack as well.

For the first 12 hours, it was the best ever. Now, not so much.

The most logical thing is with the introduction of cross-realms (also known as "we merged servers while you weren't looking and pretended we didn't") the mega-server is probably struggling to handle the sheer weight of everyone suddenly logging back on.

They probably had not assumed people would return for WoD since they've been announcing new IP's and/or making old ones into new things (Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch)

Simply put, Cross-Realm has probably caused this.

Flooding the servers with an abundance of mega server players at once is too much for the merged servers to handle. The logical thing for blizzard to do is isolate the servers listed as high population from the lower pop servers.

Its also because Garrisons are located in a single area, a big mistake in terms of design since their initial hope was to make it easier to model one base in one region but now and only now do they realize that was a big mistake.

They'll likely allow you to move your Garrison to other locations since it was a big dumb to even assume that putting everyone's personal space in the same region was not going to backfire.

So simply put, the servers are buggered for 2 reasons:

1. Cross-Realm Megaservers.
2. Garrisons being put in the same damn place.

DDoS will probably factor into this but its not the sole reason.

Until last nights que I had only one world crash and it was back up and a little bit of lag here and there. I spent maybe 45 minutes last night around 8pm est in que for Winterhoof but other wise I had very very little problems. I don't believe this is the worst as I went though Wrath on Ghostlands and that server had ques back in the day.

My main server is sargeras, it has ben more than miserable.

I have a toon on a low pop realm as well, venture co. Even that was having some lag/freeze issues.

I'd say overall this seems to be one of the bugger launches seeing as how so many baby realms were even affected by lag and DCs.

Love it all so far but I could do without the lag and waiting ten minutes to be able to enter my Garrison you should have seen the people outside who were getting teleported out their garrisons :p I gave up a little while ago and decided to wander instead. Got me a lil Clefthoof though!

I expected there to be lag/server crash issues but I think some of Blizzard's decisions made it worse. It was a terrible decision to have players funneled through a tiny hole (the opening quest sequence). And encouraging people to visit their garrisons every hour or so is causing a massive amount of traffic in and out of that instance server.

Now, while I'm currently grateful to be maining on a medium pop server, I can't get to any of my alts on other servers due to the queue times. So far I've had no queue to get in but I'm scared to ever log out... my hubby had to wait over an hour last night. I think they may have overcompensated with the lowering of the server pop cap because if people can't even get on, well, that's a problem.
