I've added the four colours to our database, and set them as untamable raptors for now :

I LOVE this model and was so gutted when it didn't show up at launch. I'm going to hope against hope we can tame them - but even if we can't, at least I can ride them!

I did see there's an item (probably like the Crab Shank) that will give your falcosaur false teeth, if that helps any.

I really, really, hate the faces on these. I mean, The rest is fine. But the face is so ugly. I have already complained lengthily about this on my blog way back but yeah. I'm here. lol

I made a 'concept' of what I wish it looked more like. Sorry for butchering one of petopia's images.

Basically, I feel it needs a pupil and snout not a beak. I'd also like to sea feathers on the tail tip but that's no big deal. Sorry if I sound rude. Just my opinion.

I like the idea of raising one as a mount though and the minis are pretty cute.

I wasn't sure how I felt about these creatures when they were first datamined, and I'm not sure how I feel about them now, but I definitely think they should be tameable either way.

Oh mah gerd! Totally just had the image of the silver one gumming his prey to death cause he forgot his false teeth!! buhwahahahah

I love this idea. The beak isn't as bad on the blk /red one since it's not as noticeable but the beak may be a deal breaker for me. I'd have to see them first. (this is VERY optimistic one of each color becomes tamable)

What would be dope though (forgive me if this is pilfering someone's idea couldn't remember) is finding the egg and raising it to be your tamed pet. I wish we had quests like that for some pets. Find lost cub, pup, egg, fry (?) etc etc etc.

I agree that the pupil does look really good on these, but I have to disagree about the beak vs snout. It's all personal preference of course, but if it had a snout then it would just be yet another raptor, and I've already got one that I love. At least with the beak, it makes it feel different enough from a raptor that I can tame one without my anal retentive side kicking in and telling me I don't need two raptors. I'm actually kind of digging these "combo" animals - first the owlcats and now birdraptors! Which are technically the same thing, just separated by many generations. You know what I mean. :P

Of course you do! One always needs two raptors! :D

I used to tell myself the same sort of thing and yet here I am with 5 different boars.

While I do believe that the normal raptors should have natural feathers... I'm still convinced someone took a raptor, glued some feathers on and shoved a beak mask on it. ._.

I'm very glad these will be tamable for those who would like them!

However, I still think these are pretty unattractive and just bizarrely designed.
When you think of a feathered raptor, rather than a Jurassic Park-style raptor, what comes to mind?

Image
Image

- Wing-like arms
- Long, feathery tail
- Recognizable raptor snout and toothed maw

These Falcosaurs have... none of those. It's like someone slapped together a Raptor and a Tallstrider and called it a day.
And I'm seriously questioning the color combination of turquoise and orange.

I saw this and throught it was real and was like I'm getting one of those! Then I saw the real image and was like....err maybe not
I'll have to see how that red one looks in game though I wish the one you made was real!

That does look really cool, Peridot. The eyes having pupils would really help. I wish they looked more like the feathered raptors that the Young Teroclaw resembles. But overall I still like them, even tho they're weird as anything. I particularly like the rather jarring turquoise and orange. But I'd like that color combo on a Young Teroclaw model even more. In my mind, dinosaurs wouldn't have all been the dull shade they're often portrayed in. Modern illustrators are doing a much more interesting job, but I still want more color. I'm sure there were plenty of grey/brown/dark ones for camouflage, but give that the theropods are the ancestors of our birds, many of which are extremely vibrant, I can't help but imagine a world full of colorful plumes and preening, show-off raptors. As for the beaks, the fossil record is full of beaked dinosaurs and some of them are alot weirder looking that these guys. Granted, their body shape is different than these guys. But, it's fantasy :)

Also, I would like this, please.

I'm rather fond of the Turquoise/Orange and Green/Purple ones. The black one looks bland and ugly, while the white one could use more...something? Not sure if I'll tame one, but if they make silly bird noises like the Fossilized Raptor or Teroclaw Chick, I'm grabbing one in a heartbeat.

I'm content with our current feathered raptors (Teroclaw Chick), but another dopey not-bird is fine too. I'd greatly prefer more colors for the Teroclaw Chick model though, especially a blue one.

Definitely agree if they do become tamable should probably be in raptor family. They seem more raptor than bird of prey

With the beak, I'd put them in the Tallstrider family. Not that families matter right now since so many (including raptor, tallstrider, and bird of prey) don't have family abilities. Non-ability families effectively could all be grouped together as "other".
