I've doublechecked most of the locations in Suramar, Suramsr City, and Nighthold. Nothing.

Flying is a good point - while I don't think there are any areas that are totally inaccessible on foot around the Isles...

I haven't kept up very well with the spectral gryphon hunt, but for some reason the name makes me wanna say that perhaps, just maybe, it was literally lost while being delivered to you or someone else. Ethereals like to throw stuff at us that we didn't pick up, right? How does one obtain the spectral gryphon in-game after doing the scroll of resurrection thing? There's a destroyed Dalarani(?)/Kirin Tor town in Netherstorm, for example. I think I'll go poke around there a bit.

Myself and others havs checked those locations. We know for a fact that Lalathin, Gon, and the Spectral Gryphon aren't just something you can spam a \target macro for. If they were out in the open, someone would've seen them by now.

So, they're either stealthed or spawned by an item. In the case of the latter, myself and others have searched very thoroughly in locations that would make sense for these pets to be in. So unless the means to spawn them weren't implemented until Live (have been searching since patch dropped), I don't know what else to think other than it is possible that, at least the Spirit Beasts, haven't been implemented. It isn't the first time a mob has been added to the database, flagged as tamable, but isn't actually in the game.

may as well check the old Dal crater for the Gryphon too then.
Gon could have been tossed into Un'goro since the Devs were playing around with that zone for the recent holiday anyway- although I doubt it.

if a special item is needed then we have a long list of recently added miscellaneous stuff to read through. Keep an eye out for any clickable feathers or nests maybe?

(has anyone ticketed blizz to ask if these are in game yet?)

Muffinus just confirmed that the Spectral Gryphon is in, on twitter.
There may be a hint there too, the gryphon could be near the sea.

Don't get your hopes up too hard on the hint. People are/were asking about the Riddler's Mind Worm. They may be talking about that (re: the sea) rather than the spectral gryphon.

I also suspect the sea thing referred to the mind worm. It is a sea serpent after all. But who knows?

Should we start looking for this floating island? Our radar would reveal what´s on it after all.
But i cant imagine what the ghost of a gryphon should do on the broken Isles...

So many secrets. I love searching for the answer even more than taming the beast at the end i think.

Has anyone checked inside Black Rook Hold? I'm grasping at some serious straws here, but the Archaeology quest we get the key to the secret room from is "What Once Was Lost."

I was literally thinking about Black Rook Hold to go checking on that this morning.

I did some exploration in the deep ocean this morning, actually. Found some really awesome, small, uncharted islands, but there was nothing on them at all. I may continue the exploration later on.

Yeah, I too have spent some time exploring the Great Sea around Broken Isles in the past couple of days. Lots of aquatic beasts and some cool arrangements that surely have stories behind them, but not much else. :(

I also paid a visit to Helheim, since Wowhead has a "Lost Soul Fragment" listed that doesn't seem to have done anything previously. Another dud unfortunately (not that I expected much from it to begin with).

Part of why I wanted to explore the map is because there is a giant serpent on the map ("Here there be monsters" style). Thought maybe it was a not-so-subtle hint. Unfortunately it's well into fatigue waters, and I chickened out early.

I don't have game time, but It feels like I'm part of the team. I hope people will find the spectral gryphon Don't give up my hunter friends! I believe in you! *cheers*
