I tamed it on a level 37 hunter. The Elekk was level 34. I'm not sure what the lowest level you can tame it is though.

I used Camouflage and Feign Death to get through to the Grim Guzzler. Didn't have a Remote.

There's a complication to determing the levels of the untamed Pink Elekk: the Synthebrew Goggles (and being drunk) make everything appear 3 levels lower than they actually are. When I view it on my level 60 hunter (with the goggles on) it appears level 57 (including with Beast Lore), but if I remove the goggles there's a split-second window in which I can mouse over it again before it vanishes. In that time it appears level 60.

I'd still like to know its minimum level, but that's probably difficult without help. The ones with the same ID in Terokkar are 15-60, and it could be the same, so you'd want to bring in a hunter of level 10-12 to be safe. But most mobs in BRD have a min. level of 19-20.

You're going to have to be at least 20 to enter BRD, so that cuts out 1-20.

Do we have any official confirmation on the Pink Elekk being limited to Brewfest? If not, I'm eagerly looking forward to finding out if it is an event exclusive. I see everyone SAYING it is, but I don't see any actual confirmation from official sources, unless I'm just blind.

That’s a positive sign! But I’ll give it a few hours, maybe even reset, before I feel completely safe. Is anyone on an EU real able to check? Brewfest ended there 8+ hours ago.

Lol i knew it, there would usually never be holiday oriented pets, but there are definitely pets limited to world quests and events, I’m looking at the orange and black dread roc, and the sand worms

EU here and I sure don't see it. Maybe I did something wrong? But I think it's just gone now that Brewfest is gone.

it could potentially be a case of the elekk existing on a realm until it's killed/tamed and then it will no longer respawn after Brewfest ends?

Since it’s in an instance it shouldn't spawn at all if the deciding factor (e.g. festival) has ended. But that’s assuming the instance servers update immediately, and also that the instance wasn’t created before the event ended.

It's not there for me. So I guess it's seasonal.

I actually like the idea of this crazy and fabulous pet being seasonal. It’s something for new hunters to look forward to next year. I just hope that everyone who wanted one this year managed to get it before the festival ended.

Can you think of any special or weird looks that would be fitting for other seasonal events?

These two pretties come to mind for Winter Veil, so I added them to the database:



I don’t think there are any NPCs using those looks that could be set tameable, so they’d need new ones.

Maybe a hare/rabbit or chicken mechanical for easter? or a special tallstrider?

For other holiday-themed tames, here's a list from a guy with way too much time on his hands:


Lunar Festival:
- Pale Warden Owl with a ghostly form, similar to Tyrande's owl.
- Minion of Omen as a wolf, retaining the spirit appearance.
- Guardian Hound with a unique name. "Child of Omen", perhaps?
Love is In The Air:
- No idea here.
Noblegarden:
- Noblegarden Bunny as a spirit beast.
Children's Week:
- Condors with little jousting dolls on top.
Midsummer Fire Festival:
- Also no idea here.
Harvest Festival:
- Chickens as Birds of Prey or Carrion Birds
- Turkeys as Birds of Prey or Carrion Birds
Halloween:
- Soul Eaters as...whatever? Lizard, Spirit Beast, or something.
Day of the Dead:
- Skeleton Horses as coursers.
Darkmoon Faire:
- Darkmoon Dancing Bears as bears.
- A wolf resembling Moonfang, glowing eyes and all.

Earth Day (Real holiday, not celebrated in WoW):
- Plant Hydras as hydras. (Gimme a page on Petopia for these guys!)
