If there was any pet I was really attached to on Deathly, I must've never gotten the memo. It wasn't until WAY later (about halfway to getting to 80) that I found a pet that I really did have a hard time letting go of... That spunky wolf model in Zul'Drak.
But I still don't know if it was the model or the name I was more attached to...
I'm starting to wonder if I ever did have major attachment to any of my pets, because the only ones I'll never let go of now are my Loque (because god was he the luckiest tame ever), my crocoslime because I know they'll never come around again, and my Arcturis because damn was he hard to get from the campers and the griefers.

My ghost sabre Clingfilm is actually my second ghost sabre, I released the first one ages ago and regretted it, then reading here about how they might disappear in the next expansion, I had to get myself a new one.

I am fond of my devilsaur Terminus, for one because I love devilsaurs, for two because his personality is very simple to me. If it isn't family, it's food. This leads to many moments of the giant lizard turning to Illidius and giving him the "Food?" look.

My sentimental pet was on my very first hunter (A night elf). Ah, those were the days... I was the worst kind of noob hunter – Wearing shaman mail and other things, not having a clue on what I was doing. When I was questing in Ashenvale, I happened upon Mist Howler. She was my very first beast rare that I ever encountered and I just had to have her. Well... she kicked my butt repeatedly due to her fear, so one of my nice priest guildies came out and put a bubble on me prior to taming. At last, she was mine and she, in the time of non-normalized attack and run speed, was amazing. I named her Fortuna due to my luck at finding her. She was my one true hunting companion for a long time.
I have since retired my hunter and I do miss her, but I just haven't had any other hunter she felt 'right' with.

Look at my signature.
Gerethay joined me at level 10.
Although I raid with a wolf, outside of an instance, you only see me with Gerethay.
Even when we had a RP-tavern in Orgrimmar, everyone was asking for him, when I came without him.
Since there were a ban on hunterpets (some hunters must have made theirs misbehave badly), people nagged the innkeeper so that I could get a special permission to bring him.
Is Gerethay a sentimental pet?
No, I'd rather say he is part of my hunter.

Acutally each of my hunters have a special pet.
Ximbol.. has 2 really... Loves her yellow worm Uzzy. Did get him when She was 80, but has no desire to replace. Loves him as a tank. She also loves her Sithlid - Twitch. Was the first rare exotic she tamed and has so much fun in PVP with her.
Bitka. - (horde) got her ravager Knockdown at level 10 for PVP and Clutchmother PMS (pretty mother strider) at level 20 for Questing and Dungeons. Likes her quirky nature and matching name.

. Can not release either.
Xephyr - (Alliance) loves Echeyakee.. Spent over 2 hours trying to convince a horde character to allow the tame. Could have had a friend build one but loved the challenge to try and get a stranger to let her tame.
My new hunter has not tamed yet to see what clicks with her.

In some ways I feel sad that I never truly had that one pet during my levelling experience. A pet that stayed with me from the start, that's been in my stables since the beginning. My armored black boar certainly came close. Frankenswine was with Veph for a very long time, but as much as I loved him he wasn't quite that pet.
It wasn't until Wrath of the Lich King was released and Devilsaurs were made tameable that I got a chance to know Skorn and bond with him more than any other pet in the duration of my play time. As a special, sentimental pet he may not be as old as some people's, however I've adored Devilsaurs since I first glanced back and saw one on my boyfriend's screen when he ventured into Un'goro for the first time. Maybe Skorn was waiting for me all that time, I just had to wait to meet him. ^^

/Awwww @ Veph, For Nevar my night elf hunter it has to be Faust my red hyena, I've never quite clicked with a hyena like I have that one. For Iracebeth my Petopians orc huntress its def Kallisto her bear, I've never really used a bear until I tried Kallisto and the girl fast became my favorite - she is an ordinary brown bear atm but my dream is for her to fast become a diseased black bear - I'm slowly working on that

My Warpstalker and my Hyena are both sentimental to me. I will probably be one of the few people who doesn't end up filling up 20 stable slots... heck, I still have 1 open slot in my stable as is.

I have a soft spot for the blue/green silithid scorpions from the barrens. I had one named GreenMeanie from the time I hit lvl 22 until I was lvl 80. I really hated dismissing him and would love to get him again but my stable is full currently. If he isnt going to be available in Cata, I'll have to say goodbye to my raiding wolf and grab the scorp, I definately want to pick him back up, I miss the little guy.

Deadlock. I love Wailing Caverns, and my character practically lived there. Being on a normal server, I loved being able to just roleplay around without inturruption. One time, my character was "camping" (at around level 30, I had managed to solo my way pretty deep in) and an audacious Dreadwing decided to come over and bother me (I figure it was for all the cheese). I tamed the baby and she's been with me for 50 levels. She's never leaving.

I love my hunters and their pets... but I have too many of them to be hugely sentimental about just one. My "Main" is a rogue and I have just added a DK at 80 recently.
I have a few favourite pets though.
A ghost saber, Caliope, on my highest hunter Kytlin. This was my first "special" pet that I made the effort to go tame.
A flesh-coloured armoured boar from RFK, Gunter. This guy was nabbed back before I knew boars were cool and long before they were nerfed. Now they are pretty cool again. I rarely see this skin of the three armoured ones.
Several of my hunters have serpents from WC. Good but not great pets, i just love them anyway
One of my hunters has nabbed a mulgore swoop. Nothing hugely special about that except it was the exact pet that was the final one in the taming quest. I've tried to re-tame these pets several times on other hunters but havent managed it - they seem to de-spawn now. The best I've managed is to tame the same pet's respawned clone (ie used the same spawnpoint to grab its next incarnation)
(edited due to modem trouble!)

My scarlet tracking hound, Jiaphyon. I tamed him on Silinrul as soon as she hit 34, and I SOLO'd SM to boot just to get him. It took me a good hour and one trash pet, and I nearly died in the process, but I got my red hyena. After that, I quested with Jia from 34-80. At one point I tried to tame a diseased wolf and level with him for a little bit, but I felt SO bad about leaving Jia in the stables that I switched back and never tried to level with anything else again until both myself and Jia were 80.
I don't use him as much anymore, but Jia has a permanent stable slot and I'll never, EVER get rid of him.
On Taigi, it's probably my Humar the Pridelord, who is very very special to me and also has his own stable slot. He's sentimental for obvious reasons, though

Daishi (Loque) and Daikaiju (King Krush) are the only two pets that I'll never release. All my other pets (including my core hound) don't hold such attachments with me.

Ok on Sasrei it would prolly be Atlas. My King krush, oh the king krush grind. Ive read how people got 5-9 attempts before he was killed I usually only got one or two. It took 4 months of pure camping to finally get him, but now he is my baby and I am more excited then ever to have him. My Shola (loquenk) is prolly one of those pets I love and will never get rid of. On a whim I decided to go and check to see if any of the rares are up in sholazar. At the time I had no want to get Loquenak, thought he was quite ugly actually and then as I was flying around BAM, he was there so I tamed him and called him Raiden. I tamed a second one because noone was around and someone wanted to kill him so I tamed him. Called him Shola, considering I was camping so much in shola it makes sense lol. And she was actaully the one I released back in the wild for my successful tame of King krush ^.^ So I renamed Raiden, Shola and now the two are best friends.
Also Teeka (Araga) means alot to me as well. Its odd since for a long time I thought she was ugly but now I love her haha.
On Inaric. I must say I love all her pets on her. Which is wierd for me to finally be complete with a stable since it took me so long to feel that way on Sas. But my sentimental pet would be Styx, my tan slithid. Who I tamed because he's going bye bye come cata. And now I love my jumpy friend ^.^ Prometheus as well (King Mosh) after a few failed attempts in taming at a lower lvl. 63, 75, and then at a higher one. I finally got him, and was more then happy to have him in my stables. Still at this time unsure if I want King Krush (since I love that skin) but none the less. Either way he's still the same whether or not he goes green

but I think Ill get alot better gear on Inny first before I attempt it. Tried at 75.. got a few seconds off so I know Ill get him, whether it be a randomn fly by or come Cata.
On Saon. Hawkbane. My striped Tiger, who originally was King Banglash, but then I kinda started pvping and umm.. those pets dont level in pvp so I tamed a frosaber instead

so same cat just.. higher leveled. He's my baby ill prolly have for a long while. Sakura (devilsaur) as well, oddly enough I like the little white pink.. thingy. Haha she fits and I love her ^.^ And my newest addition Tsunami (green slithid), just recently tamed and now we have bonded amazingly. Still unsure whther or not he'll get a tan

i would have to say Humar, ive now gotten him on all of my 3 hunters, which all but arrol have been deleted or something. and i spent 15 hours camping him on arrol(8-12 hrs my ass) hes always been my favorite pet because he is hardly tamed anymore. most people just take the easy way and get pitch. but no i wanted humar, the original, not the copycat (lol no pun intended but hey =P)

Echeyakee is mine too. Once upon a time I had Humar, which was exciting to be because he was the first pet I ever actually camped for, and I was feeling proud. I was out in Ratchet one night and there were some blood elf hunters stomping around with Humars of their own. I /waved at them, and we emote-cooed over each others' pets. Then one of them pulls out this while lion! I had never seen one before, so there was much /love-ing and such going on. then one of them asks me to /wait and I get a whisper from a level 1 dwarf. one of the hunters rolled up a baby ally to ask if I wanted to tame a white lion too! I was so thrilled when they led me over to his spawn point and let me tame him, I couldn't thank them enough.
Leveling him through twenty-two levels so he could catch up to me was a painful experience full of him going "1! 1! 2! CRIT 4! Lookit me go ma, I'm helping!

" but he grew on me, and he is now my favorite pet. Yeah I've got spirit beasts, yeah I've got the Beast, but Kegan is my favorite and go-to pet for everything.
I've had him since he was 16 and I was 38, and I'll have him until the day I log out for the final time.

Oh god, I actually miss those days a little, just for that bit of cuteness. xD
