Thanks Noor. :) I was trying not to let all the prophecies of WoW demise affect me, but the overall gloomy trend in conversation lately just put a damper on my emotions I think. Hopefully that all turns around a bit now.

Yay Blizzard! I knew you guys could do it! <3 It shows you did actually listen to your community who knew it was a bad idea. It shows we do have a voice, even if it's small. Cry out loud enough and they can hear you.

I mean, if they required us to put in a nickname that would appear in our posts, then that would be fine. Just not real names.

Anyone know what happened to Micah Whipple in the last few days? I'd sure like to see if he got any personal backlash form all this.

I think he got a lot of pizzas sent to him. Also, apparently this wasn't the same Micah Whipple as the one that worked for Blizzard. Or so I have read... I'm sure this guy got confused!

There were two of them, one at Blizz and one not.. both got a lot of pizzas, and will probably be getting a lot of new magazines in the future. Hopefully that is all, but with the gang at 4chan leading the way, there might be new credit cards and who knows what else.

Which also shows the dangers of this. Someone gets really pissed at you, and they might target you, or might nail some innocent person instead, thinking it was you.

Hopefully they learned their lesson. But it's likely not the end of this.

Well if I were the other Micah Whipple I would be steamed over this whole thing. His privacy was compromised over something he might not even be associated with. Yes I believe it was a publicity stunt on the part of Blizz. I'm happy they posted they will not be using real names but am also very suspicious of this whole pathetic thing. I may continue playing after all but sure as that I'll be much more proactive when it comes to these sorts of things. /lesson learned
