Ok, willing to send a pet that hasn't been out in 7 levels on "vacation" for this, since I'll need to level her anyway. Lvl 70 Tauren, BM. Give it your best shot!

Hm, well, I tamed him, but I don't like him. The screeching is cool, and his gets this neat spell effect that looks like a blue wave, BUT he has got HOLES in his wings, and I can't run along without just staring and thinking "How the hell does he fly?"
I nearly died once, because I ran into mobs. I may be having bat kabobs by tomorrow.

Red corehound....subtle hint to tame the Beast? I'll go tame the corehound puppy tomorrow.

Tamed. And now we'll be running some dungeons to get her up to speed. Named her Dasani because that's the water I'm drinking.
Will give a full review in a few hours. I noticed first off that she didn't lose a lot of size after taming.

I'm fine with it. Everyone else I would die before I abandon them, but I just don't have that with Apollo. Moonlight is huge to me, Iorek has a story, Bayne I worked my tail off, Artemis has a story....Skoll/Apollo? Nothing really.
So yeah. Let's see how this corehound works for me.

Ok, I went out and got my assigned yellow and blue moth. I looked the skin up on Petopia (well, of course

) and chose a Silkwing from Blade's Edge. The Silkwings are a spawned beast that sometimes emerges when you kill a Silkwing Larva. I got the moth to come out on the first larva I attacked. The moth does have a "wing buffet" attack that breaks the tame, so I recommend a freezing trap. Otherwise, easy tame and not much around that's aggressive.
One very interesting thing that I noticed is that the poor moth randomly dropped dead shortly after I tamed her! Much like the ghostsaber. She was fine after I res'd her.
I really like the yellow and blue combination and the shimmery dust off her wings. I named her Silkwing, since it just suits her so well. She is a lovely moth. Her animations are darling and I love her little moth growl.
Her diet of cheese, bread, fruit and fungus is reasonable enough. Those things are fairly easy to come by.
Her special attack seems quite useful and she did pretty well against lvl 70-71 mobs. I didn't combat test her too much but I will tomorrow.
The only thing I don't like is that she has no pet emotes via the pet emote add-on.

I also wish she flew a little higher off the ground.
On a side note, this was a part of Blade's Edge, and a rather pretty one at that, that I had never been to! That was a nice discovery. And, the Horde has a flight path there, which is nice.
Surprisingly, I'm thinking of keeping her for longer than the test period! I can't say it will be permanent now, but come Cata, it certainly will be. I am fond of the little critter.

I left Bane the tiger with that comely panther-ess in the Garadar stable yard, though, so I'm sure he'll be fine for a while
I'll take her out and fight more with her tomorrow, take her for a swim, etc.

I'm interested.
Only one BM toon for exotics at ~lev 70.
heaps of options below 50.
I'd like 3 randoms please.
A very long time ago I reviewed all the available pet types on my blog. I'd be interested to see if people mostly agree with my assesments of each type. Blog post here:

* Try tanking an 80 elite with your pet
My normal approach for elites is simply killing it before it can reach me, and if that isn't possible, Feign, let the pet take some beatings while I run away, and then go full nuke again. Therefore, having the pet tank was challenging in more ways than one. It would not keep aggro, and, while not surprising, it took a lot longer to kill than I anticipated.
* Level it a level or two
I was planning to take it all the way to 80, but I couldn't. I just don't care for the bat. At all. I got him to 76 before quitting out on it.
* Do a heroic
My damage was about the same as with my wasp. The pet died twice, which is an improvement. The random HC finder got me into PoS.
* Do a battleground
I got killed. Repeatedly. The bats stun is on a cooldown that is too long, and costs too much focus to be effective. This pet is useless.
* Check the pet out in different lightings
He looks slightly darker or lighter depending on location.
* Check out swimming and possibly levitate animations (if any)
He flaps his wings while standing still, and glides. How he stays airborne is a mystery.
* Get a screenshot of you and your oddly fitting or entirely mismatching pet!
SUbmitted as an attachment.
* Results of any tests (including the above) that you might do. Mention what you think of the pets' model, skin, animations, sound effects, family skill etc. How convenient (or annoying) are their food requirements? Will you keep the pet, or consider another from the same family in the future? Did you learn anything hunter-ey from this pet?
He eats meat, fruit and fungus. Meat is rather easy to find, so his diet is easy to accomodate for. Not that it would be neccessary, he has Carrion Feeder.
This pets model is horrible. His back, face, and wings are awfully badly made! He also slapped poor Tael a lot.
His sounds were slightly annoying, with hissing and constant flapping.
I won't keep the pet, and I definately won't tame another bat anytime soon. Not without a new model.
EDIT: Forgot the screenie.
