Hrm.
Does anyone know what happened with the Silvermane Stalkers?
Were silver worgs in the far east of Hinterlands that could stealth. Got changed to black, unstealthing worgs.
Did anyone who had a silver one wake up suddenly one morning with a black one? Or did they change the NPC ID first? If the former, we have hope. If the latter, it's likely the npc itself will be changed before release.

I can confirm that tamed Lupos turns into a brown coyote.

That's the previously-tamed ones?
Seems pretty cruddy. -_- Beta testers should protest the change! Or at least ask why it was made.

Yeah, that was my five year tamed Lu. I'm not going to let her go, even if she does just end up a brown coyote. I've had her way to long for that.

Wish I could share the same feelings for Clack the Reaver. But I purposely tamed him
because he was silver-white. I've always loved that skin the most over all scorpids, and all that. Mean even his name fits him now,
Mercury, to go along with my theme of mineral and metal named pets. [Harp is a dorf after all]. But after finding out that Clack turns black?
Gonna have to dump him and retame a normal white scorpid.
Though why the hell is Lupos being changed to a brown coyote. I mean a white worg makes sense. There's black worgs there. There's white wolves.
White wolf + black worg = possibility for a white worg. Auuurg. stupid blizzard.

Little tangent here: I like how both Palla and Ryai are loyal to their pets, but in different ways. Palla's loyal to the specific pet he tamed five years ago and Ryai's loyal to her pet's appearance/essence. Both mentalities = pet love.
I'd really really like to know why Blizzard decided to change his look, if there's even a reason. Ryai already recapped the proof that a white worg in the zone makes perfectly logical sense.

Yes, I did have one of the silver wolves, it did turn black, as did one of my long time pets in vanilla, Frostsaber Stalkers who were solid white, to logging in one day to have them striped.

I originally tamed Lu because of the skin. I tamed Timber first, then switched over to Lupos when I found out he did shadow damage instead of physical. I'd really, REALLY rather have the white warg skin, since that was what I was aiming for so long ago now. But I think it'd be kind of shallow of me to let go of a pet just because it doesn't have the same look anymore. Besides, with twenty slots I can always just tame another white warg.

Well, think of it this way, that coyote could be a placeholder for something awesomely badass, like a Ghost Wolf or something.

Obviously this is all just theory right now, but let's say things continue the way they seem to be going now, which is to say that currently tamed pets will shift into their new skins as soon as Cata hits - while it would indeed be annoying to find that your longtime favorite pet is going to shift into an undesirable skin, as long as that same skin is available elsewhere (to solo hunters), then I think getting to have Soriid shift into a unique, now-untameable model would still be a net gain.

And remember about Sunreaver Dragonhawks.
But that's not the point. Why is Clack turning black? Why is Lupos turning into a normal coyote? This isn't about a simple 'retame' as I was thinking that too.
And low and behold it happened to me and left a nasty taste in my mouth as I realized why. Because that pet was special amongst all others. And doing what Blizz did, took it away. Now while I love Mercury still, it feels a little bad because I had to retame a nameless mob. I mean I have no problem dropping and retaming Charoite, as Charoite the purple-grey turtle will always be there, just outside Theramore, waiting loyaly for Harp to come back, waving a fish and loaf of bread to her, summoning her to battle once more, a loyal friend by her side..
But I really worked hard to tame Clack, and I was rewarded with a loyal scorpid.. and then only to learn
Clack turns black, meaning all tamed Clacks, turn black.
Mean Clack doesn't even turn into the robo scorp skin- which the name Mercury might still loosely fit, but yeah. no. It still wouldn't be the same Clack to me.
