Guys...go wild.
In the latest beta build Blizzard has introduced a new rank of flying, which was originally mentioned in a #BlizzChat back in April. At level 80, a player is allowed to purchase Master Riding for a hefty price of 5000 (discounted by reputation by appropriate vendors) which will allow you to fly any mount at 310%. To purchase this you will need to visit any riding trainer that teaches flying, such as Bralla Cloudwing in Stormwind for the Alliance or Maztha in Orgrimmar for the Horde. I would assume that your 310% mounts will still go 310% without the training skill, but this will allow players to bust out some more preferred mounts and enjoy the convenience of high speed and style!

While this cost may still be subject to change, now that we have an idea of how much it'll cost do you think it's worth it? Will you be purchasing it as soon as you can when Cataclysm drops or will you be waiting to get it later on if at all?

While it's not the same as scaling all to 280%, I'd say scaling all to 310% with a gold fee is pretty awesome by me. :) By the way, it is free if you already have a 310% flyer. http://www.mmo-champion.com/

100% off topic:
You are using a german word for a nickname, Tierkreis.
Are you german?

(Ahaha, I was wondering if anyone would ever notice that.) Sadly, I'm not German or anything vaguely European, even ancestry-wise. :( The name comes from the name of a character's Hovawart in one of my stories (and it will also be the future name of my Arcturis if I ever tame him).

"Tierkreis" consists of the words "Tier" which means "animal" and "Kreis" which means "circle".
But the actual word "Tierkreis" means "zodiac".
Just in case you didn't know...

But I still am the only german then, afaik... :D

I knew what the actual word meant but not the components of the word; that very interesting! :D (Linguistics and language nerd here!)

At least people know where your country is, most of the people I know have never heard of the country where one half of my family is from. :( (Or maybe I just know very geographically challenged people. :) )

I'm from the United States but my mom is from Malaysia and my dad is from Taiwan. Most people know Taiwan, at least but, I get blank stares at Malaysia. :(

Then again, I've encountered people online who have actually thought Canada was something akin to the North Pole and we all lived in igloos.

Same here, Veph. People just don't go on holidays up north, they go south, so nobody knows how it really is... :P

When I was in the US, I've been asked which bridge I used to get over from Europe.

One was absolutely sure that Germany was Europe's capital.

The highlight was when they asked me if we ever plan to switch over to democracy in Germany and get rid of our "Kaiser Franz".
(Who actually is a very famous soccer player and "Kaiser" being his nickname as he kind of "ruled" german soccer by that time. He got back in the newspaper when he took over the german national soccer team as head coach.)

Sure, some people laugh about all this, but european kids aren't any better, as they fail to answer what George Bushs first name is, seriously.

After all, the USA is so much bigger and has more states than Europe, so no wonder, I'd say.

Ooh, those are some serious facepalm moments. >_< But then again, I have a brother who thinks Scotland is located in Ireland, the UK has a president and said president is Queen Elizabeth II, Europe is a country, the capital of England is Paris, Toronto is located in Quebec, and many other cringe worthy geographic fails. He also thinks the longest unprotected border in the world is the USA-Mexico border...no, just...no. He also failed to realise that our state was actually one of the thirteen original colonies and thought Florida was one. :(

I have since fixed these problems with a very stern lecture.

Rick Mercer, a Canadian comedian, had quite a lot of fun with this:

Apologies for the crappy video quality.

Back to mounts though -- think we will ever get our Moose? If we do and it is armoured, how about making it wear hockey pads? :D

So, uh sorry for the little bit of a necropost here, but I think we got our wish. Out of idle curiosity on the Beta, I mounted up on some of the slower speed mounts and, well, take a look at the screenshots yourself :)

Tested this with a few other mounts too, just in case if was a glitch. All of mine upgraded speeds. Sorry if this info was posted elsewhere XD

Indeed, it seems that all mounts are now upgraded to the fastest speed you have in the Beta and PTR. \o/

I always thought it was funny that an animal wearing a large amount of armor could move faster then one without the extra weight lol
