Not really. The lore books do say that the humans are the most numeros on Azeroth, and they have a racial called "Diplomacy", so I think the humans would make rather good leaders.

Hmm somehow that doesn't suprise me. But when you look at the actual game it seems like the whole world is populated by elves, trolls and...pink haired gnomes, kinda makes you confused no?

But....on the topic, how being the Lich King a good leader, okay maybe in a creepy zombie way. But it would just be that the souls would fuse again and another Lich king would be born or would they destroy the Frozen Throne now, is it even possible?

I can only imagine what might happen if Sylvanas was able to get her hands on the helm...

She would assimilate the Scourge into her Forsaken and probably rule as the new Lich Queen.

Would be pretty epic if I don't say so myself.

Exactly right, but, it does not say that the new Lich King will be evil, or infused with Ner'Zhul's spirit. It simply says that there will have to be another who will be accepted by the remaining Scourge as their new leader. Someone who will keep them under control and not launch them against the living as Arthas did. The new Lich King will be that in title only and be incorruptible as Bolvar is proving himself to be. The days of an evil Lich King who is a threat to all that breathes will come to an end when Arthas dies.

Sylvanas' role in Cataclysm is pretty much known. She is going to get a demotion of sorts.

Man, when Blizzard thinks "nature" they always think Druids. Shaman (I'm thinking the Earthen Ring) need some love in the lore, too. Considering elementals are going to be a big part of Cataclysm, I'm expecting to Thrall, Nobundo, and... some new, made up Shaman, because there aren't too many lore ones, to take front and center, myself.

He who is the next Lich King wasn't some massive surprise. But how he looks on the other hand....

There's something more to that, or, at least I hope there is. That he shows up only to take the mantle of the Lich King and than disappear seems kind of weak.

Interesting outcome, however, what will the new king do with all that scourge? Are they truly mindless and follow any order their king gives them? Some stuff suggests that perhaps if they don't like their leader they may not follow... I wonder what sort of truth there might be to that?

Assume they are not mindless, could their king not command all the scourge to dive into a volcano and be destroyed forever?

What will they do now? Will they all just move to icecrown and become frozen in the ice and go dormant? Can the lich king merely 'turn them off' as such, leaving them to be nothing more than lifeless inanimate corpses?

Interesting.

Strange humans are the only lich king candadate? maybe but consider what other race would be crazy enough, greedy enough, and F'd up enough to actually want to wear the crown instead of just destroy it, and use airships to fire bomb all of northrend?

given the fame Hogger has received, i wouldn't be surprised if Blizz had plans for him in the future

Hogger is supposed to be one of the possible dream stages in the Paletress fight in 5 man ToC but I have yet to see him make an appearance.

I have always suspected that when WoW finally winds down and we see the final encounter, King Koopa will show up, turn everyone into polka dotted mushrooms, and a huge GAME OVER will hit your screen.
