aren't their jobs carrying us around now...?

Well when i ment jobs i ment the ones the titans gave them i;e the reason they have the powers they have.

This thought occurred to me when I was flying on my bronze drake.

I thought, hey, he's an intelligent bronze drake, who probably had better things to do...

Then I thought, of course! He just time travels to the exact moment I need him for flying, then warps back to what he was doing when I'm done.



Also proto-drake conversations...

"BLAAAARGH!!!"

"MEEEEATTT!!!"

"HIIIIIII!!!"

well everyone has their own opinions. look at the drakes in the oculus. granted not all the same colors, but don't you think they'd be respectful at least a little that you've spared them and saved them from your raid who's killed the others?

regardless, all of this is just everyone's opinion, so it doesn't really matter.
if you don't think they should be mounts, than don't ride them :p

Oh i think they should be mount never said they shouldnt. was just pointing out some flights would be less like to be mounts out of their own free will ie blacks and blues. As i doubt a blue drake would be respectfull to someone who just helped kill his aspect! I think they would rather die still does not mean i would not want to inslave one to ride heck i allready have got a blue drake mount! lol i'm so mean. my timelost likes puppys and rainbows and jelly O.o

Blue drake....Sure, you just killed his Aspect. But a lot of the blues, if I read or remember right, are only doing a job. Like this:

Drake No.1: So, uh, sir....You want us to do WHAT again?
Maly: Go destroy Wyrmrest Temple and Alexstrasza and her dragons.
Drake No. 1: But, sir...Isn't that a really....bad thing?
Maly: NO QUESTIONS! Go.
Drake No.1: Oh...okay...sir.

Now that their Aspect (Who was slowly becoming nuts.) is dead, they're happy to join with the adventurers that put their Aspect out of his misery.

As for black drake....

I'm sure there's a few that aren't evil and teamed up with the adventurers of Azeroth. Traitors to Deatheing, even.

I can see these differences with the drakes intelligence:

Red Drake: "Alas great adventurer, I will go with haste on your quest to complete "insert quest here". Remember to hold on tight for my speed is as swift and strong as the Twisting Nether."

Red Proto-Drake: "I IZ HUNGRY!!! RAWR!!! ME HELP U KILL THINGS!!!"

I don't even think Protos are that sentient. After all, dragons are highly intelligent. Protos are classified as beasts, and aren't as smart.

But hunter pets, before you say, "They're beasts! Are you insulting them?!" in my mind are usually very smart. After all, you have the spirit bond, and that's going to teach them quite a bit about humanoids and whatnot. Not to mention, they have to be smart, or they kill their masters.

Just my opinions....

Well, there are two ways to look at it:

1) we are able to ride drake mounts because Blizz wanted to give us pretty dragons to ride.

2) the story of why -your- drake wants to carry you around is up to you.

If you want to go into a lore explanation of why each colored drake would willingly allow itself to serve as a mount, you'd have to look at the lore of each flight. The reds are always helping mortals, for example. The netherwing flight was saved by mortals, so they'd naturally be glad to help us in any manner they could.

Perhaps, as someone said, drakes from "evil" flights are simply grateful for being spared.
Maybe yours is a rebel, or secretly working for deathwing while assisting you. I think it's up to you

No Azunara most protos are classified as drakes hence why they show up on tack drakes theres only like 2 that are miss named as beasts.

Yup most are drakes. I so would love to see what Galakrond looked like when he was alive hes the one the titans made the aspects from.

Galakrond is larger than all of the dragon aspects combined.

He's big and cuddly.

If you go north of Wyrmrest, you can actually see some of his bones. He was bigger than Wyrmrest Temple, MUCH bigger!

They wouldn't be used as mounts as often, because people would be like "Go faster you stupid animal" and the dragon would be all angry and roast them.

And regarding Galakkrond, in my view, Arthas was an idiot. If he had devoted all his legions to ressurecting him as a frostwyrm, he could have easily taken over the world.

I have seen his bones and thats why i want to see him alive! It would be so cool! *giggles in joy* man i think i will try to draw what i think he would look like that and a proper neather proto drake not those really lame ones from that ally quest that are just OL basilisks.

I think this is really the main reason it wouldn't work. I did that quest in Dragonblight from Chromie with the hourglass, and I got offended at the persona they gave my "past self"... I mean, she was like some kind of hick! "Oh golly, thar's a dragon gosh durnit!" Not the personality of my beautiful tauren kitty at all!!!

Stuff like that comes dangerously close to RPing for the players.

LOL...my "past" Ves was really insulting, saying really mean things. I loved it. Then my "future" Ves was even more insulting!
