Please, everyone stop being so accusational and rude. Do we really want to portray ourselves as such a petty selfish community that any pet news coming from alternate sources is immediately wrong, or stealing, or had no right to post?

All I meant by saying that the cat is out of the bag, is that, well, the secret isn't secret anymore. It was inevitable, cause the thousands of people involved make it hard to keep a secret.

Regardless if they did or didn't, I'm talking about the general attitude in this thread that suddenly seems to exude an 'We are an exclusive club with secret information that NO ONE else should be allowed to have or post about.' We do not have any sort of monopoly or sole privilege. The information is out there, so there's nothing we can do about it.
I would rather see people out there sharing exciting information than hoarding it jealously to themselves.

That is not what anyone has said. It is, however, plain dumb to post a video about what is clearly a bug, and how to abuse it! But fine. I'll drop this thread. I still want to stab her, but I guess that's just not gonna' happen.
It's just, I've wanted these silithids since vanilla. Now the chances of getting it are lower than ever, because some moron posted a video about how the bug works. -.-

I'm not going to continue the discussion either, I just wanted to say that I know those things weren't said directly, but they were implied, and I just didn't want this thread to continue on the rather aggressive tone that was beginning to build.

Well, wasn't it the consensus on these forums to keep it quiet? We were basically doing what you say you are against.
I know that people who don't post here come and look and then post elsewhere about what we talk about here... the site's name is mentioned on MANY MANY forums, and our "secrets" (as some of us call them) are not really secrets if anyone can just come and look and then go anywhere else and talk about them.
I am not upset (much) about the person posting a video on how to get the silithid... I just feel bad for the people who wanted to camp out and get the silithid before very many others knew about it. With more people knowing ho wto get the silithid it only means one thing... it will be less unique.
I didn't go watch the video because I feel I do not need to watch a video on something that; A: I have already. and B: If Blizzard's intent was to let a few (few meaning maybe a couple of thousand) people get a grandfathered in unique pet that is untameable in Cataclysm keep the new skin, and then they find out a lot more has the silithid closer to Cataclysm they might decided to fling crap at a fan... if you know what I mean...
Also, I surely hope no one out there (be it here or ANYWHERE else) calls the ability to get this pet a "bug" or a "glitch", because it is neither one.... and just those two words could cause a snowball to start rolling downhill... and it could (and it still might anyway) end badly for everyone with the pet.
And if Saturo is going to stab... I guess I don't need to do any punching.

I was referencing just an overall outlook. Say the video creator stumbled upon this information, then thought she should tell others so that they have a chance at this pet. I think that attitude is better than finding out and then not wishing anyone else to find it as well. The same thing happened here. Someone thought of the idea to copy Soriid from the live realms and test him on the beta server. They could have hidden those results from the Petopia community, but instead elected to share it with us. Yes that was more of a closed community, but regardless that same mentality I meant. I was just a little taken aback by the harsh feelings towards the video creator. They seemed unnecessarily aggressive, and I think we shouldn't really be surprised this information came out eventually.

Actually, what happened here was that I thought of it, decided to try it if I got into beta, and if it worked, let you guys know. About the same time Zangor posted about it, apparently because we had shared our thoughts here. Then we got people to try it, and it worked.

Thanks for the invite over here Hunter Trainer. I didn't know about this forum. A few things I'd like to explain.
1. As I said I didn't know about this forum, so me finding out that Haarka changes skins was my own doing. I was working on that for days. I thought it was an awesome discovery and I wanted to share it with other hunters. I had a long conversation with guildies on whether to make it public or not. I could either have a super rare pet on my own or share my knowledge with other hunters who love rare pets. I decided to share it, that's just how I am.
3. In my opinion, hunters who will stalk out rare pets are far and few between. Even though the secret is out on the new skin (who knows if we get to keep it) I doubt that many people will spend the time to find Haarka. So I felt I'd still have a moderately rare pet. I've hardly seen any hunters with Nuramoc for example.
2. If I had known about the hunter community here and had a place to share the pet things I found out, I would have just posted it here instead of making a video about it.
3. Right, so now that I am here. I will not make a video of Soriid, since I just read about him as well. Sorry that I ruined Haarka for those of you that see it that way. At least if you have Soriid he should stay extremely rare.
4. I respect people and communities. If there's a topic here or something that you guys only want shared amongst yourselves, I will not make any youtube vids or anything about topics that ya'll want to be kept quiet.
And I am sorry to those of you who think I've ruined something.

*nods* Exactly, but weren't we all excited to witness the idea come to fruition together?
Someone else maybe just wanted to share that excitement with others too. I'm not saying I'd rather this whole thing explode out into general knowledge, but since it already has there no reason to be upset over spilled milk so to speak.

Im with Veph on this one, remember how quickly the Garwal cat was let out of the bag.. Blizz isnt stupid they'd know about this eventually. Especially when someone who DOSENT know see's a hunter with the pet wants to get it and cant and then complains that it isnt fair... I mean...these things like Garwal werent ever really supposed to be tamed in my opinion. And as bove post said ^ making a youtube creator feel bad is NOT something to be proud of..at all.

I could be mistaken but I think someone mentioned Soriid looked different in the beta, so I ran out and tamed him on live and did a Character Copy.... then showed off the SSs... I 'think' I might have been the first one here to do it.... I could be mistaken though.
Oh... I also think I was the first here to actually do the same thing with Haarka and post the actual tamed SSs on these boards. I am 100% sure I was not the first in the world to try it on either one, but at least I took the initiative to bring it to this community since I saw it asked here. I have yet said anything about either silithid or Grunter anywhere else... but the cat is out of the bag anyway.
I need no cookies.

Such agression. As you said, you didn't see the video. Obviously, I have a fail real of everything I tried to get that skin. It took days. I did not take anything from you guys. You hate me, yet you know nothing about me. The internet for you I guess.

Whether someone was first, second, third...it doesn't matter. My main gripe here is that people were threatening and insulting Zeilla, regardless if it was joking or not. It's in bad taste, and makes a bad impression of this community as a whole. There is no excuse for that sort of behaviour over a topic like this.
I'm locking this thread now, I think it's inexcusable that a stranger was made to feel so hated for such a petty reason.
