I don't even truely get the change i mean i can see the hyenas as their tracking pets as they are red ya know to fit in with the hole scarlet thing.

I like how he's listed as a scorpid. Hopefully there will be more opportunities to tame the red hyenas. I always wondered why they were hyenas when they had the word hound in their name plates. (And where did they get the hyenas in the first place? *disbelief re-suspended* XD )

There's also all those Hyenas in Dire Maul called Gordok Mastiffs or something aren't there?

When I get into the beta, I'll have to switch Silinrul over and see if her red hyena switches too.

If he does, I'll have to track down Slaverjaw or any other red skins.

If THAT happens, I might just release Jia into that zone just before Cata hits, and then retame the hyena later...it could be like I let him run free for a while and got hm back...

And Veph, those are orange I think, not red. I've only ever seen red ones in SM and in the PL's and the PL ones aren't tameable.

I don't understand about the releasing & retaming, you said folks would have to release & retame... the whole thing was that scarlet hounds are no longer hyena skins but are now mastiff skins, so anyone who has one would change to mastiff if changed over to beta. So why would one have to release & retame?

Because they prefer the scarlet hounds to the mastiffs, so they'll have to tame new red hyenas.

but there aren't any red hyenas... yet & the only listed claims scorpid.

Most likely an oversight/error, since there's a new scorpid rare in the area too.

Oh, yes, I knew they weren't red, I just meant that I wonder if they'll be changing into actual Mastiff models instead of hyenas due to their names.

Level 83 Bloodsnarl Hyenas (red skin) in Uldam with current build, although they are marked as untameable expect that to change like fox and mastiff.

Turns out slaverjaw is real and a little red hyena :3

So if all else fails, there's still this one lonely little boy to be had.

Also tameable, but he got ganked away from em while I was lagging and trying to take pictures, so no taming as of yet. But still!

Me well i'm just not well i would not say happy about my hyena maybe turning into a dog but i would not want it. I am not a dog girl and i will never have one irl and so yeah i'd dicth DrFeelGood dog for DrFeelGood hyena as soon as it changes IF it does.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about losing my go-to easy place for my hyena, but hey, it does exist! and if I park myself out there before it launches, well... ;P

Yes My old Hyena Jasiri was going to be the first "sixth" pet I tamed in CATY!! NOOO!! PUT"EM BACK!!

I mean I'm fine with the skin being available somewhere, and I'm fine with the dogs in Scarlet being changed.

But I don't think its really cool for peple who have already tamed the hyena for it to be changed on them come live. For people who don't watch beta spoilers etc. I hope its a bug that it "auto changes" in your stables.

I'd feel that way about any pet - whatever you tamed it should stay the way it is - regardless of what they do to the mob 3 4 5 years down the road .

So I hope that parts a bug; even if they are now mastiffs for SM and Caty - those that are already tamed should stay what the people wanted to begin with.

I was in Dire Maul north the other day and was wondering if the hyena's there will be changed to the new mastiff's due to their name...Gordok Mastiff. With the change to the SM hounds I can see a change to the DM north hyena's as more likely.

Nice to see there is still a red hyena around though. I've always wanted to tame one, but have never had the stable room.

awwww poor scarlet hounds... and I was going to go get one.. but YAY! they still have one!
