I just hope that casual leveling guilds can get access to all this sweet stuff. I don't want to have to quit my small, but awesome guild and join a bunch of pushy raiders just to get my dark phoenix.

I'm hoping that my little one-person storage guild can at least get the snail pet - or that it is BoE. I don't expect that for the mounts - and no matter how much I love mounts I'm not joining a guild for them. But the snail? Please let me have a snail!

I'm sick of this common ''I want to be an unique lil' snowflake else this game isn't enjoyable for me anymore'' behavior. No accusations but that's what it seemed like. Do you want this to be a second Ashes of Al'Ar? I don't think you do, look at how many people winded up getting that mount while they were all drooling over it. I think I saw a SINGLE individual sporting that beauty. In my WoW career, and look at how long Tempest Keep has been out. Chances of you getting it then is 0.0.0% nihil. So trust me -- you don't want that.

Never meant it like that, it matters not to me who has what, and whether it makes me unique or not. But having something to chase or work towards makes the game playable. If everything is just handed out, you'll run out of stuff to do in no time. Like now, my current objective is the tiger mount. Been at it for over a year. Its something to do. So please, dont jump off the handle.

I won't, as said. No real accusations, but I just want to say that both ways are bad, having it be extremely common, or extremely rare. Would like to see it as a Raid Achievement rather than a 0.0.0.0.0% drop or an almost free mount that comes inclusive with your trip to Goldshire (everyone knows how bad that place is, and that you also get thousands of spaminvites for guilds :p)

I'd much prefer something that drops from a certain boss on 10/25 heroic mode than something that just gets handed out to anyone. They've already done it twice, with the sea horses and now these thunder lizards. It's just not fun if you get a mount from every quest.

I agree that getting mounts thrown at you from all sides is rather boring. Though I actually think it's fine that there's one type of water mount that's easily available. Afterall, everybody can get a ground and flying mount. But I hope there'll be others that are more challenging to get.

I think they are trying to steer away from that because how many people can do heroic mode raids? Good raiding guilds...guilds who's members arent bored which atm in a raiding guild is kinda hard to find imo at this point and time. I dont mind getting a mount the "easy" way because either way in my eyes I've earned it even by doing something mundane.

I wouldn't mind them allowing us to buy that mount but maybe pop the price up a little but I am sure you have to work for it like have atleast 25 level 80s in a guild and all have good enough progression in the game. Yes I said game not Raids! Maybe this is what achiviment points might stand for maybe people need to get atleast 8000 achivment points to be able to buy that mount or you have to do a event as a Guild or even just running instances!
I am not againts them giving items away either Blizzard is a huge company it is what they do I could go into details but meh details
But I am sure it won't be one of the easy items to get I do hope Blizzard make it hard enough just so casual guilds can get it to, World of Warcraft isn't as popular as people think the rise in fake realms and such are on the up and people are going to them as they are more enjoyable, though I myself don't understand why.
I will be honest I have, like most people, lost intrest in World of Warcraft. It's either to easy or to stupid I miss having to work as a guild to get things done! I really do hope Blizzard bring that aspect of the game back I am not saying they need to make these items a faceroll to get but atleast make us have to work as a team to get to see them may it be in Reputation, Raiding, or just plain old Questing!
And if they make a mount that good looking easy to get ... Think what the hard to get ones will look like!?

Try not to see Blizzards actions as negative all the time they are trying to please alot of people who play World of Warcraft

I like having the mounts at the vendor because and I will admit this is selfish but i don't raid. I will never see any of the dropped mounts. This way everyone has a chance at something nice. Why does that bother people?

I got my Vemonhide Ravasaur pretty much 20 days after the questline was released. Now, I can't tell you how many people I've seen around Dalaran with their ravasaurs, but that doesn't make mine any less special, IMO. It was my first raptor mount, and I absolutely love raptors! I don't care who else has it, because mine is special to me.

And for the record, I happen to really like my sparkly pony! It's my pally's signature mount.

The thing is, around the time Guild Perks were announced at Blizzcon Guild Items were going to be bound to the Guild so when a person leaves or what they bought goes back to the Guild:

Guild Items and Guild ReputationParticipating in various activities earns members guild reputation. Members can buy special items (with gold) based on their current reputation level. These items are bound to the guild; if a member possessing a guild item leaves the guild, the item is returned to the guild bank. These items will be purchased via special guild vendors.

Guild bound items proposed at BlizzCon include:

Heirloom gear
Rare reagents
Profession plans (person leaving the guild loses the ability to craft the item)
Guild bank tabs
Vanity items, such as pets
Guild standard

Though this statement is a couple of months/years old I haven't found anything new that says it will change. I.E. if you leave your guild when you have the mounts or pets they don't turn into some generic non-Guild looking item.

But if Blizz thinks that people will solely join a guild for the mounts, pets, and heirlooms and then bail when they get them they may not change that rule.

There was only 1 person on my server that had it. Recently another person managed to get it. Still pretty rare for only 2 people on the entire server to have this mount.

There's a difference between Look here I wasted 5+ years of playing time and finally got a mount, that now I have to spend another 5+ years of playing time to get on any of my other toons because I want a time and money sink from Blizzard because I want to work for something! and Look, here I have a mount I worked my ass off for, and now all my toons can have for working their ass off for, and I don't have to spend year after year after year crying over not getting it.

I'm sorry that you seem to think a time sink is actually more work and better than a mount everyone can get because lo and behold, the one everyone can get is just a tad easier to obtain.

I mean ignore the fact your complaint is null and void if someone is raiding an instance or dungeon above level cap. I mean I could care less about the ZG tiger or ZG raptor atm on Caim when I Solo them with a face roll. Would that also mean that now that so many classes can solo ZG as I have seen as many tigers and raptors used as sparkle ponies, that now ZG cats and raptors have lost their worth and should be retired because oh it's now a mount everyone and their mother owns?

To do that the boss would probably be on par with Alagon. Who feeds on your tears. Or he would be worse. Then there's also the thing that do you know how elitist some servers are? They want GS, Achieves and etc else. Oh heaven forbid you have tacts and gear/skill, it don't matter worth crap.


Or worse what if it's like VoA. No one ever does a full run of VoA anymore and I would KIKLL for a Grand BWM, but it will never be mine because in all half dozen runs I've had per too n able to get in there I have only seen it drop once.

I'd much rather spend 1k stone shards on buying it, than face melting torture of trying to get into a VoA when everyone lol class runs, for one boss.


And what do you mean a mount from every quest? Did you not like, dungeon scrawl in Wotlk? You got tabards. That raised your rep when killing stuff in dungeons. And several of these places offer free mounts. Wyrmrest accord actually offers free dragons. Dragons were being tripped over upon in Wrath.


If you want something special go raid Onyxia. Not Ashes of Al'air, I've seen Ashes 3/4 times.

Only seen Ony mount once.

Never even seen Invincible.

So yeah.

About the hating part, during the first two weeks of the sparkle pony release, there was SO many haters out there it was just plain hilarious. I used to spend entire evenings in Krasus' Landing on mine with the Jenkins title while wearing full Wildheart on my hunter. The numbers of hate whispers I got was insane! What always cracked me up was that some of them told me to get a life, which is kind of moronic considering said person was getting a hissy fit over a video game.
