We'll see when it's gets closer to launch how much it's going to be.
Amazon has the normal version of Cataclysm at $39.99, which I believe is the same price that BC and WotLK launched at.

okay i'm getting afraid it will be to late now!
Starcraft II collector's editions still aren't impossible to find, even a couple weeks post-release.. You've likely got plenty of time.

Allow me to rephrase it then. :) At game launch WotLK was $49.99 +. Because the game is much older now the price has come down to $39.99.
Launch prices are always the highest. :)

Wrath launched at $39.99

But the collector's edition was only $70, so this collector's version is a $10 premium over that.

Well nobody here as the CE up yet, purely for the press release going out after working hours, but it'll be interesting. Both before RRP was £49.99, then they stupidly decided to jack up the StarCraft one to £69.99 so am a little concerned.

Lookin at the pics from Amazon.com of the CE, Lil Deathwing looks different than from the model pics. Wonder if this pic is just a placeholder for some reason.

Yeah, Kamalia was mentioning that on the Mini Deathwing pet thread.

I honestly would assume it's a placeholder of some sort. The real minipet Deathwing has already been uncovered, and they specifically say it's a Mini Deathwing that comes with the CE (and that one up there doesn't exactly look like him).

Yeah I see that now...

I really do hope it's a place holder cause the pics of the other Lil Deathwing was freakin adorable/awesome. But yeah, most likely a place holder.

Perhaps when they were creating that CE preview they hadn't completed the Mini Deathwing model and so just stuck something there in the mean time. Or they didn't want to reveal the model yet (but MMO found it anyways xD).

If you look closely its the pet form the last collector's edition. I bet when they did the package design they didn't have that model ready yet so they just photoshoped the undead frost one to look red. I'm curious it it'll change before they start to sell it.

And since little deathwing is for the collector's I think the star dragon pet might be for blizzcon. I'd so buy the digital thing if that is the case. :D

Mmm, is it recommended to pre-order now? I don't want to wait too long, but I don't want to jump the gun either.

Well, if you preorder from amazon, you always get the lowest price that comes available...but it probably doesn't hurt to wait too. I mean, are you gunna get cata to play right away, or will you wait til the price comes down?

I will again be lined up outside Future shop nice and early for the midnight release, nab my collectors edition, and anything else thats being given away for those who first in line. Last year I got the Collectors edition and the free "!" ballcap.
This time I'll have to remeber to Cosplay a character for a chance at the free $100 Giftcard give-away Future shop holds for midnight openings.

I'll be playing it right away and likely convincing my mom to take me to the midnight opening. I live near a small Game Stop where I can get in and get out.

I took a chance and pre-ordered from Amazon.
so far, I haven't been very lucky with collector's editions.

every time I've pre-ordered one from a game store, they've screwed me over at the last second with some bullcrap response about "oh, we didn't order enough copies".

It looks like the companion pet you got for the Olympics event they did the dragon with the skin of the sparkly pony you can buy. Its one of the only mini pets that has yet to have a confirmed way to be obtained if I'm not mistaken.

What sucks is that Game Stop doesn't have it for in store pick up, so I may just get over night shipping so I can still get it the day on release... They ship at midnight yes?

You gotta ball cap!
We just got a poster from Wal-mart when it came out during the midnight release.

But yeah, I'll be standing in line at either Wal-mart, if I don't ahve to be at work, or Best Buy early in the morning if I do have to work.
